Buying car parts from Dubai for Georgia, the country (Tbilisi)
Updated
The quick answer
This page is about Georgia the country in the South Caucasus, capital Tbilisi, not the US state. Buyers there send a part, part number or VIN on WhatsApp and a person quotes from UAE stock and the Sharjah and Dubai parts markets. Your own cargo agent or forwarder collects in Dubai; Easy Auto does not ship abroad. Georgia charges 18 percent VAT and duty of 0, 5 or 12 percent. We supply parts only for vehicles in Georgia, never for onward shipment to Russia or Belarus.
Key facts

- A UAE and Georgia trade agreement has applied since 27 June 2024 and covers over 92 percent of tariff lines, with some cuts phased in over time.

- The UAE reported USD 24.4 million of vehicle parts and accessories exported to Georgia in 2024, according to United Nations Comtrade data.
- Poti's container terminal reports about 80 percent of Georgia's container traffic, and a bonded inland terminal opened in Tbilisi in June 2025.
- Georgia re-exported light vehicles worth USD 1.2 billion in the first half of 2025, so we ask where every part will be fitted.

Georgia the country, not the US state: who this page is for
Easy Auto is a UAE car-parts directory with a WhatsApp parts desk, and this page is written for buyers in Georgia, the country in the South Caucasus whose capital is Tbilisi. If your workshop, shop or car is in Tbilisi, Rustavi, Batumi, Kutaisi or anywhere else in the Republic of Georgia, read on. This page does not cover the US state.
The UAE reported exports of vehicle parts and accessories to Georgia worth USD 24.4 million in 2024, on the United Nations Comtrade series we checked. Rustavi, about 25 kilometres south-east of Tbilisi, was described by OC Media in 2017 as home to the biggest car market in Georgia, filled mostly with cars imported from Japan. Requests from Georgian numbers have reached our parts desk asking for one exact part by number, such as an engine water pump for a BMW.
How a part gets from Dubai to Tbilisi, Poti or Batumi
Small parts can fly. Scheduled flights connect Dubai with Tbilisi, with a seasonal service to Batumi, and forwarders in Dubai quote air freight to Georgia. Your forwarder gives the rate, the cut-off and the days in transit for your own booking, and we make no promise on delivery times, because the airline and the forwarder control the schedule.
Larger orders go by sea to Georgia's Black Sea coast. Poti is the main container port: its terminal operator says it handles about 80 percent of the nation's container traffic, a record of more than 600,000 twenty-foot container units in 2025, with a 22 kilometre rail line tied into the national network. Batumi is the second port. Inland, a bonded container and intermodal terminal opened in Tbilisi on 4 June 2025, built as an extension of the two seaports and 60 percent owned by a UAE port group; we have no link with it and mention it only because it shows where containers can be handled.
Which port and which sailing is for your forwarder to decide. Easy Auto does not book freight or quote it, so ask for the routing in writing and send the forwarder the weight and dimensions of the parts before you pay for them.
What Georgia charges on imported car parts
The Revenue Service of Georgia sets import duty at 0, 5 or 12 percent of customs value, or at a fixed rate for some goods, depending on the goods, and charges VAT of 18 percent of the import value. The United States commercial guide to Georgia, published in December 2025, adds that nearly 90 percent of goods enter at a zero rate of duty. Which band a given part falls into depends on its tariff code, so we cannot quote one rate for every part; your customs broker checks the code before you buy.
The UAE and Georgia agreed a comprehensive economic partnership that took effect on 27 June 2024. The UAE economy ministry says it covers over 92 percent of tariff lines, with some products at zero from day one and others reduced over time. A preferential rate has conditions attached, and a part made in Japan or Germany that you buy in Dubai is not automatically treated like a Dubai-made one. Ask your broker whether a specific part qualifies before counting on it.
Private allowances exist, but only for goods of non-economic purpose, and the Revenue Service is explicit that goods of a commercial nature brought in by an individual must be declared whatever their quantity or value. Parts for a workshop, a customer's car or resale are commercial. Customs service fees also apply, and they scale with the declared value and the point of entry, so a broker can tell you the total for your cargo.
| Charge | Rate | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Import duty | 0, 5 or 12 percent, or a fixed rate for some goods | Customs value, by the goods' tariff code |
| Import VAT | 18 percent | Import value |
| UAE and Georgia trade agreement | Over 92 percent of tariff lines covered, some phased in | Applies where a part qualifies under the agreement |
| Customs service fees | Scale with value and point of entry | Set by the Revenue Service; your broker totals them |
Declaring and clearing parts in Georgia
Treat every parts order for a shop, workshop or resale as a commercial import that needs a customs declaration in Georgia. Ask your forwarder or customs broker who files it and in whose name, then make sure the commercial invoice matches. If a part needs a permit or certificate, that comes first and we will not quote around it.
The Dubai end has its own formalities. Parts leave the UAE under an export declaration made through Mirsal 2, and Dubai Customs issues a Customs Exit Certificate when it is approved. A Dubai forwarder's guide from March 2026 names a signed and stamped commercial invoice, a matching packing list, a certificate of origin where required, and the airway bill or bill of lading. Your cargo agent will say which it needs from the seller. Used parts are listed as used on the invoice.
Georgia's car re-export trade and the parts we will not supply
We supply parts for vehicles in Georgia, to be fitted in Georgia. We do not supply parts for onward shipment to Russia or Belarus, and that includes shipment through a third country; we do not take orders from a consignee who will forward the parts, and we do not give advice on routing goods through other countries. A person on the parts desk may ask for the VIN or registration of the vehicle and the name of your cargo agent, and will decline an order that does not fit.
Georgia has a large vehicle re-export trade. The Jamestown Foundation reported in August 2025 that light vehicles worth USD 1.2 billion were re-exported in the first half of that year, about 81 percent of them to Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, and its analysis questioned whether some of those vehicles reach their declared destination. That is a reason to be exact about end use. If a part will leave Georgia again, even for Central Asia, we do not quote it.
Sanctions enforcement has also reached UAE traders. On 12 December 2023 the US Treasury designated several UAE-based companies for shipping aircraft parts, batteries and electrical equipment to Russia. Separately, the US Commerce Department, working with the EU, Japan and the UK, lists 50 common high priority items Russia seeks to buy, and bearings are among them. This is our own supply rule, applied to every order, and it changes nothing for a Georgian workshop buying for cars on Georgian roads.
Which parts suit Georgia, and how order size changes the plan
Freight is charged on weight and volume, so the shape of an order matters more than the part. One compact valuable part, such as an engine control unit or a LED headlamp matched by VIN, travels well on a plane. A bulky low-priced part usually does not, because the freight can exceed the price.
Used engines, gearboxes and half-cut front sections suit a container, with the cost shared across a whole consignment. For Georgia that often means a mixed order for one shop assembled in Dubai from several suppliers by your forwarder. Wet batteries, airbag units, gas-charged shock absorbers, fluids and undrained engines are not arranged by us for air freight, and the International Air Transport Association puts responsibility for classifying dangerous goods on the shipper.
| Order shape | Usually suits | Settle first |
|---|---|---|
| One part for a workshop | Air freight | VIN, part number and who files the declaration |
| A mixed box for a shop | Air freight or a shared container | Total weight, and which items are used or aftermarket |
| Engines and gearboxes | A container through a forwarder | Engine codes, drained units, and the port of arrival |
| Anything that may be dangerous goods | Not arranged by us for air | An agent with dangerous-goods approvals |
Stocking a Tbilisi, Rustavi or Batumi shop from Dubai
Parts shops, importers and workshop groups in Georgia can ask for a trade quote instead of single-part pricing. Our trade page sets out price-list requests, minimum orders and mixed-supplier orders in plain words. A person prepares the quote from UAE stock and the Sharjah and Dubai markets; your forwarder consolidates and books the freight.
Prices and stock change, so we do not publish a list. Send your list with part numbers and quantities, and say which brands you want and whether used parts are acceptable. The more precise the list, the sooner the quote comes.
What to put in your first WhatsApp message from Georgia
Write the VIN, or the make, model, year and engine if the VIN is not to hand, and the number printed on the old part. A clear photograph of the old part helps. Give the quantity, say whether new, used or aftermarket will do, and tell us the city where the vehicle is registered.
Name your cargo agent in Dubai if you have one. If you do not, say so and a person will explain what an agent does. Quotes are written in English, and a person confirms how to pay on WhatsApp after you accept the quote.
UAE parts shops that export
These shops are here because our record of each one lists exporting, sending parts outside the UAE, among what it offers. It is a record of what they told us or published, not a check that they send parts to Georgia today or of what is on the shelf, and none of them has paid to be here. Ask how the part reaches you, and who handles the export paperwork, before you pay.

Questions buyers ask
- Is this page about Georgia the country or the US state?
- It is about Georgia the country in the South Caucasus, capital Tbilisi. Easy Auto is a UAE car-parts directory, and its export pages cover buyers outside the UAE who want parts collected in Dubai. Nothing on this page applies to the US state of Georgia.
- Can I buy car parts in Dubai and get them to Tbilisi?
- Yes. Send the part, part number or VIN on WhatsApp and a person replies with a quote. Your own cargo agent or forwarder collects the parts in Dubai and books the flight or the sea route to Poti or Batumi. Easy Auto does not ship abroad or promise delivery times.
- How much VAT and duty does Georgia charge on car parts?
- The Revenue Service lists VAT of 18 percent of import value and duty of 0, 5 or 12 percent of customs value, or a fixed rate for some goods. The band depends on the part's tariff code, so your customs broker should confirm it for each part number before you order.
- Does the UAE and Georgia agreement make parts duty free?
- Not for every part. The agreement has applied since 27 June 2024 and covers over 92 percent of tariff lines, with some cuts reduced over time rather than removed at once. A preferential rate has qualifying conditions, so ask your broker whether the specific part qualifies.
- Do I have to declare one part I buy for my own car?
- The Revenue Service says goods of a commercial nature brought in by an individual must be declared whatever their quantity or value, and its allowances cover goods of non-economic purpose. Parts for a workshop or resale are commercial. Ask your broker how a single part for your own car is treated.
- Will you supply parts to be re-exported from Georgia?
- No. We supply parts only for vehicles in Georgia. We do not supply parts for onward shipment to Russia or Belarus, and we do not quote a part that will leave Georgia again, including for Central Asia. A person on the parts desk declines orders that do not fit.
- Which Georgian port do parts arrive at?
- Your forwarder chooses. Poti is the main container port and Batumi is the other Black Sea port; a bonded inland container terminal also opened in Tbilisi in June 2025 as an extension of both. Ask your forwarder for the routing in writing before you pay for the parts.
- What should I send first on WhatsApp?
- Send the VIN, the number from the old part, a photograph of it, the quantity, and whether new, used or aftermarket is acceptable. Add your cargo agent in Dubai if you have one. A person replies with a quote written in English.
