Buying car parts from Dubai for Azerbaijan

Updated

The quick answer

Buyers in Azerbaijan can get car parts from UAE stock and the Sharjah and Dubai parts markets by sending the part, its number or the VIN on WhatsApp; a person replies with a quote. Your own cargo agent or forwarder collects in Dubai and moves the parts on, because Easy Auto does not ship abroad. On arrival Azerbaijan charges 18 percent VAT plus customs duty of 0 to 15 percent by tariff line. We supply parts for vehicles in Azerbaijan only, never for forwarding to Russia or Belarus.

Key facts

  • Import VAT is 18 percent under Article 173 of the Azerbaijan Tax Code, charged on the customs value plus any duty.
  • Customs duty runs from 0 to 15 percent of customs value, set by tariff line; your broker confirms the rate for each part's code.
  • A UAE and Azerbaijan trade agreement has applied since 15 April 2026, but its tariff cuts cover goods originating in the two countries, not everything sold in Dubai.
  • A private person receiving goods by post or courier owes no customs payments up to USD 300 of customs value per calendar month; trade orders do not qualify.
  • The UAE reported USD 58.3 million of vehicle parts and accessories exported to Azerbaijan in 2023, according to United Nations Comtrade data.
  • New-vehicle sales in Azerbaijan reached 69,832 in 2025, up 114 percent, with Chinese brands holding at least 68 percent.
  • Poti, on Georgia's Black Sea coast, is described by its terminal operator as the primary gateway for trade in Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
  • We supply parts for vehicles in Azerbaijan only and do not supply parts for onward shipment to Russia or Belarus.

Who buys car parts from Dubai in Azerbaijan, and what do they want?

Azerbaijan is a real lane for UAE parts. The UAE reported exports of vehicle parts and accessories to Azerbaijan worth USD 58.3 million in 2023, the latest year on the United Nations Comtrade series we checked. Requests reach our parts desk from Azerbaijani numbers too: a control unit that had to match a VIN, a set of body panels for an American-brand crossover, and one enquiry that spoke in container loads rather than single parts.

The car market behind those requests has changed fast. New-vehicle sales rose 114.1 percent to 69,832 in 2025, and Chinese brands took at least 68 percent of them, with six of the top ten brands Chinese. Toyota was still fourth, at a 9.9 percent share and growing 20 percent. Our parts desk is built around Japanese, Korean, German and American makes, so that is the lane we can serve; for a new Chinese-brand car, ask the brand's own importer first.

How a part gets from Dubai to Baku

Air suits small, valuable parts. Scheduled flights connect Dubai with Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku, and Dubai forwarders sell air freight to Baku. Your forwarder quotes the rate, the cut-off time and the transit for your booking. We do not promise delivery times, because the schedule belongs to the airline and the forwarder, not to us.

Heavier or bulkier orders go by sea. Poti, on Georgia's Black Sea coast, is called the primary gateway for trade in Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan by its container terminal operator, and it has its own rail connection into the Georgian network. From the Black Sea ports cargo continues overland through Georgia. A bonded inland container terminal opened in Tbilisi in June 2025 as an extension of Poti and Batumi, and it forms part of the Middle Corridor, the overland link between the Black Sea and the Caspian where Baku sits.

Your forwarder, not Easy Auto, chooses the routing and books the sailing, and we do not arrange or quote freight. Ask for the route in writing before you pay for parts, and give the forwarder the part's size and weight early, because both change the cost far more than the parts' price does.

What Azerbaijan charges on imported car parts

Two charges apply to a trade shipment. Customs duty is a percentage of customs value between 0 and 15, set by the part's tariff line, and import VAT is 18 percent. VAT is worked out on the customs value plus any duty, so a part that bears duty carries VAT on top of it. The rate depends on the line, so we cannot give one figure for all parts; your customs broker confirms the code and the rate before you commit.

The UAE and Azerbaijan signed a comprehensive economic partnership agreement on 9 July 2025, and it entered into force on 15 April 2026. The UAE economy ministry says Azerbaijan removes tariffs on 98.5 percent of UAE-originating goods. The key word is originating: the agreement's rules of origin decide which goods qualify, and much of what the Dubai markets sell was made in Japan, Korea, Germany or China. Do not assume a zero rate; ask your broker whether a part qualifies and what proof of origin is needed.

Private buyers have a separate allowance. Under rules published by the State Customs Committee, goods not meant for production or commercial use that reach one individual by international mail or a transport company are free of customs payments up to USD 300 of total customs value per calendar month, and above that the excess is cleared with the allowance deducted. Parts bought for a workshop or for resale are commercial goods, so this allowance does not cover them.

Clearing the parts in Baku and the paperwork that travels with them

The State Customs Committee publishes a coded list of goods under prohibition or restriction, so a part's tariff code is checked against it before cargo is booked. Ask your broker for that check on every part number you plan to buy. If a part needs a permit, the permit comes first and we will not quote around it. Also ask your forwarder or broker who files the declaration in Baku, because that decides whose name the invoice should carry.

On the Dubai side, parts leave the UAE under an export declaration filed through the Mirsal 2 system, and Dubai Customs issues a Customs Exit Certificate once it is approved. A Dubai forwarder's guide dated March 2026 lists a signed and stamped commercial invoice, a matching packing list, a certificate of origin where one is needed, and the airway bill or bill of lading. Your cargo agent will tell you which of these it needs from the seller. Used parts are invoiced as used, so the paperwork matches what is in the box.

What we will not supply: parts for Russia or Belarus

Easy Auto supplies car parts for vehicles in Azerbaijan, to be fitted there. We do not supply parts for onward shipment to Russia or Belarus, we do not quote for a consignee who will forward them, and we do not advise on routing goods through third countries. A person on the parts desk may ask for the vehicle's VIN or registration details and the name of your cargo agent, and will decline a request that does not fit.

The rule exists because UAE-based traders have been named in enforcement. On 12 December 2023 the US Treasury designated UAE-based companies that had shipped aircraft parts, batteries and electrical equipment to Russia. The US Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security also publishes, with the EU, Japan and the UK, a list of 50 common high priority items that Russia seeks to buy, and bearings, which every car carries, are on it. A part that looks ordinary can sit on a control list, so we check the end use instead of assuming it.

This is a rule about our own supply, not a suspicion of any one buyer. A garage or importer in Azerbaijan who wants parts for cars in Azerbaijan will find the process exactly as described on this page, with no extra steps.

Which parts make sense to send from Dubai to Azerbaijan

Freight is charged on weight and volume, so a bulky low-priced part can cost more to move than to buy, while a compact valuable one makes the trip worth it. That favours engine control units, body control modules, headlamps, instrument clusters and similar electronics, each matched by VIN, and small mechanical sets where the old part number is known. It disfavours a single bumper, radiator or exhaust that a local supplier could find cheaper.

Engines, gearboxes and half-cut front sections suit a container, where the cargo is shared across a whole consignment and the forwarder consolidates it in Dubai. The Sharjah yards are where used Japanese engines and gearboxes are found, and the right unit is matched by engine code, not just by the model name.

Some items we do not arrange for air freight at all: wet batteries, airbag and seat-belt pretensioner units, gas-charged shock absorbers, fluids and engines that have not been drained. The International Air Transport Association places responsibility for classifying dangerous goods on the shipper, so only an agent with the right approvals should carry them.

Importers and resellers: container and mixed orders

Importers, garages and resellers in Azerbaijan can ask for a trade quote instead of a single-part price. Our trade page explains price-list requests, minimum orders and mixed-supplier orders in plain words. A person prepares the quote from UAE stock and the Sharjah and Dubai parts markets, and your forwarder consolidates the cargo in Dubai.

We do not publish a price list, because stock and prices move. Send the list you want costed with part numbers and quantities, and say whether you accept used and aftermarket parts alongside new ones; a wider brief gets a quote that fits more of your list.

What to send on WhatsApp to get a quote

Start with the VIN, or the make, model, year and engine size if you have no VIN, and the part number from the old part if you can read it. A photograph of the old part and of its label saves a round of questions. Say how many you need and whether new, used or aftermarket is acceptable.

Then say who will collect in Dubai. If your cargo agent has a Dubai office, give its name; if you have not chosen one, say so and a person will explain the next step. Quotes come in English, and a person confirms how to pay on WhatsApp once you accept.

UAE parts shops that export

These shops are here because our record of each one lists exporting, sending parts outside the UAE, among what it offers. It is a record of what they told us or published, not a check that they send parts to Azerbaijan today or of what is on the shelf, and none of them has paid to be here. Ask how the part reaches you, and who handles the export paperwork, before you pay.

Questions buyers ask

Can I buy car parts in Dubai and get them to Azerbaijan?
Yes. Send the part, part number or VIN on WhatsApp and a person replies with a quote. Parts come from UAE stock and the Sharjah and Dubai markets, and your own cargo agent or forwarder collects them in Dubai and moves them to Azerbaijan. Easy Auto does not ship abroad itself.
How much VAT and duty will I pay on parts in Azerbaijan?
Import VAT is 18 percent, worked out on the customs value plus any duty. Customs duty is between 0 and 15 percent of customs value depending on the part's tariff line. Your customs broker confirms the exact rate for each part number before you commit to an order.
Does the UAE and Azerbaijan trade agreement make car parts duty free?
Not automatically. The agreement has applied since 15 April 2026 and removes tariffs on most UAE-originating goods, but only goods that meet its rules of origin qualify. Much of what Dubai sells was made elsewhere, so ask your broker whether a particular part qualifies.
Can I use the USD 300 allowance for a part I order?
The State Customs Committee's allowance covers goods for personal use that reach one individual by mail or a transport company, up to USD 300 of customs value per calendar month. Parts bought for a workshop or for resale are commercial goods and are declared in full.
Will you supply parts that are going on to Russia or Belarus?
No. We supply parts only for vehicles in Azerbaijan, and we do not supply parts for onward shipment to Russia or Belarus. We also do not advise on routing goods through third countries, and a person on the parts desk declines a request that does not fit.
Can I order used parts for Azerbaijan?
Yes. Used and aftermarket parts are part of what we source, especially used Japanese engines and gearboxes from the Sharjah yards. Used parts are invoiced as used, and your broker should check the part's code against the restricted goods list before the cargo is booked.
What should I send first on WhatsApp?
Send the VIN, the part number from the old part and a photograph of it, the quantity, and whether new, used or aftermarket is acceptable. Add the name of your cargo agent in Dubai if you have one. A person replies with a quote written in English.
