Isuzu D-Max and N-Series truck parts from Dubai for export
Updated
The quick answer
Fleet buyers in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Saudi Arabia send an Isuzu D-Max or truck list with the chassis number and the engine plate, and a person answers on WhatsApp with a new quote, each line marked genuine, OE-brand or quality aftermarket. Isuzu sells one badge with several engines and emission levels, so the engine plate decides the part. Your own cargo agent collects in Dubai.
Key facts
- Isuzu East Africa sold 6,494 vehicles in Kenya in 2025, a 47.81% share of 13,583 new sales, up from 5,390 and 47.48% in 2024 (Business Daily).
- In Best Selling Cars Blog's Kenya table for 2024 the D-Max was first with 21.4%, ahead of the Land Cruiser 70 at 16.5%.
- Saudi Arabia's 2025 table put Isuzu sixth among brands, up 1.9%, and moved the N-Series up three places to tenth among models, up 20.5%.
- Isuzu's Middle East NPR page lists the NPR75 with the 5.2 litre 4HK1, the NPR85 with the 3.0 litre 4JJ1 and the NPR81 with the 4.8 litre 4HL1.
- The same page marks the 4HK1-TCN as Euro 2, Euro 3 or Euro 4 depending on the market, so fuel and emission parts can differ truck to truck.
- Kenya bans 17 kinds of used wear part, among them brake pads, filters, bearings and spark plugs, so Kenyan buyers order those new.
- Uganda's 2022 table gave Isuzu 6.3% of 2,959 new vehicles, with the TFS, also called the D-Max, fifth among models.
- We print no Isuzu prices; every line is quoted by a person on WhatsApp and marked with its grade.

Is yours a D-Max, an NPR-type truck or an F-series?
Wikipedia's D-Max article gives three generations: the first from 2002 to 2012, the second from 2011 with a Thai launch in September 2011, and the third, which debuted in Thailand on 11 October 2019 and reached Australia on 1 September 2020. In South Africa the pickup sold as the KB until 2018 and was then renamed D-Max. Uganda's market tables use another name: Best Selling Cars Blog lists the Isuzu TFS, also called the D-Max, fifth among Uganda's models in 2022.
The trucks are sold as the Elf in Japan, Mexico and Indonesia and elsewhere as the N-Series, with NPR, NQR and NKR as the usual export names. Wikipedia's Elf article says the second letter marks the cab and the weight rating: H, L or K for a regular cab, M for a high cab and P, Q or R for a wide cab. The sixth generation came in Japan in December 2006 and February 2007, and the seventh was presented on 7 March 2023.
The F-series, called Forward in Japan, is the next size up. Wikipedia's article lists the FRR at 4 tonnes, the FSR at 5 to 7, the FTR at 8 and the FVR at 9, and it ties no engine to the FRR. An FRR owner therefore sends the engine plate, as every Isuzu owner should.
| Model and generation | Dates | Engines named |
|---|---|---|
| D-Max, first generation | 2002 to 2012 | 4JA1-T 2.5, 4JH1-T 3.0, 4JK1 2.5 and 4JJ1 3.0 diesels |
| D-Max, second generation | From 2011; Thailand launch September 2011 | 4JK1 2.5 and 4JJ1 3.0; the 1.9 litre RZ4E from the 2015 update |
| D-Max, third generation | From October 2019 in Thailand | RZ4E 1.9, RZ4F 2.2 and 4JJ3-TCX 3.0 |
| N-Series (Elf), sixth generation | December 2006 and February 2007 in Japan | 4JJ1 3.0 and 4HK1 5.2 diesels |
Which engines sit under Isuzu pickups and trucks?
The 2.5 and 3.0 litre J-series engines sit under the D-Max. Wikipedia's engine list gives the 4JA1 as 2,499 cc with direct injection, 76 PS in its Thai naturally aspirated form, and a turbocharged 4JA1-L in the KB250 that South Africa knew before the D-Max name. The 4JK1 is also 2,499 cc but common rail, and the 4JJ1 is 2,999 cc with 16 valves, rated 163 PS in 2006 and 177 PS with 380 Nm by 2011. The third generation's 4JJ3-TCX makes 190 PS and 450 Nm.
The 4HK1 is the truck engine most buyers name: 5,193 cc, direct injection and a turbocharger, with ratings from 148 PS in the NPR400 to 189 PS in the NQR500 depending on variant. Isuzu's own Middle East NPR page shows three engines under one badge: the NPR75 with the 4HK1-TCN at 150 PS, the NPR85 with the 4JJ1-TC at 130 PS and 330 Nm, and the NPR81 with the 4.8 litre 4HL1-TCN at 130 PS. It lists all three for Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar.
That page marks the 4HK1-TCN as Euro 2, Euro 3 or Euro 4 depending on the market, and the 4JJ1 as Euro 2 or Euro 3. Two trucks can share a 4HK1 code and still differ in their fuel and emission hardware, which is why we ask for the plate and not just the model name.
| Code | Size and type | Where it sits |
|---|---|---|
| 4JA1-T and 4JA1-L | 2.5 litre diesel, 2,499 cc, direct injection | First-generation D-Max, 2002 to 2005; the KB250 in South Africa |
| 4JK1-TC and TCX | 2.5 litre common-rail turbo diesel, 2,499 cc, 16 valves | D-Max from 2005 onward |
| 4JJ1-TC and TCX | 3.0 litre common-rail turbo diesel, 2,999 cc, 16 valves | D-Max; the NPR85 at 130 PS |
| 4JJ3-TCX | 3.0 litre turbo diesel, 190 PS and 450 Nm | Third-generation D-Max |
| 4HK1-TCN, TCS and TCC | 5.2 litre turbo diesel, 5,193 cc, 148 to 189 PS | NPR75 and NQR trucks |
| 4HL1-TCN | 4.8 litre common-rail diesel, 4,778 cc, 130 PS | NPR81 in the Gulf |
Where do these Isuzus work, and what do the tables show?
Isuzu East Africa sold 6,494 vehicles in Kenya in 2025, a 47.81% share of 13,583 new sales, up from 5,390 and 47.48% a year earlier, according to Business Daily. The figure covers pick-ups, buses, trucks and SUVs together, so it is not a count of D-Maxes or trucks alone. In Best Selling Cars Blog's table for 2024 the D-Max was first with 21.4%, ahead of the Land Cruiser 70 at 16.5% and the Hiace at 12.9%.
Business Daily reported in March 2024 that Isuzu held 60% of Kenya's commercial-vehicle segment in 2023 and had taken over UD Trucks distribution. The Star reported in June 2026 that Isuzu East Africa is building a parts centre at Lukenya in Machakos county, due by the end of 2026. A Kenyan fleet manager will set any Dubai quote beside that franchised channel, so we name the grade and brand of each line to keep the comparison fair.
Uganda's 2022 table gave Isuzu 6.3% of 2,959 new vehicles, behind Toyota at 64.2%, Nissan and Ford, and an import agent's page ranks the Isuzu Elf fourth among popular imports from Japan, after the Hiace, the Prado and the Canter. For Tanzania we found no published Isuzu count, so we claim nothing there beyond asking for the chassis number and the engine plate.
Saudi Arabia's 2025 table, covering 857,247 new vehicles, put Isuzu sixth among brands, up 1.9%, and lifted the N-Series three places to tenth among models, up 20.5%. The source names Isuzu among the few top-ten brands that grew. The N-Series is a light truck, so its rise points to commercial fleets, which is our reading and not the source's statement.
Which new Isuzu parts do trade lists carry?
In our reading, the best-defined trade list for these trucks is built on the 4HK1 and 4JJ1 engines: rebuild kits, clutches, brake shoes and drums, injectors, turbochargers and cab mounts. Fleets in Kenya and Uganda run many trucks of one type, so the same list repeats across vehicles and a trade quantity makes sense. Rebuild kits are priced by engine code and rating, which is why the 4HK1 variants TCN, TCS and TCC are asked for by name.
Wheelbase and cab matter as much as the engine. Isuzu's NPR page lists wheelbases of 3,365, 3,815 and 4,175 mm for the NPR75 and gross weights of 6.0 to 7.5 tonnes. A propshaft, a brake-line set or a set of springs follows the wheelbase, and cab parts follow the cab, so a wide-cab NPR and a regular-cab NKR are not assumed to share them. Send the model code, in the style Isuzu prints for UAE trucks, NPR75L-HJ5VAYSN.
| System | What the list can carry | What decides the part |
|---|---|---|
| Engine rebuild | Gasket sets, piston and ring sets, bearings, timing parts, oil pump, water pump | Engine code and rating, such as 4HK1-TCN or 4HK1-TCC |
| Fuel and turbo | Injectors, injector seals, turbochargers, fuel filters | Engine code and Euro level |
| Clutch and drive | Clutch kits, release bearings, propshaft joints | Wheelbase and gearbox |
| Brakes | Drum shoes, drums, pad sets, wheel cylinders | Model code and weight rating |
| Suspension | Leaf springs, shock absorbers, bushes | Wheelbase, axle and weight rating |
| Cab and body | Mounts, lamps, mirrors, panels | Cab type: regular, high or wide |
Genuine, OE-brand or quality aftermarket for an Isuzu?
On an Isuzu quote, genuine means an Isuzu-branded part from a UAE distributor. OE-brand means a maker that also fits the carmaker's own vehicles, named by brand on the line, and quality aftermarket means an independent brand built to the Isuzu pattern. We name the brand and the part number against every line, so you can put a Dubai quote beside a franchised price and see that the labels match.
We have not measured an Isuzu ladder in Dubai and print no Isuzu price. The one pump ladder we did measure is on a Toyota V6 water pump, number 16100-39456, on 3 November 2026 with VAT included: genuine from AED 397, GMB at AED 229 and NPW from AED 214. Quality aftermarket therefore cost a little over half the genuine price on that part, and the same gap between labels is what your Isuzu quote will show line by line.
Kenya makes the label matter. KEBS told pre-shipment inspectors in 2019 that 17 categories of used wear part may not enter, among them brake pads, filters, bearings, spark plugs, clutch plates and ball joints, so Kenyan buyers order those new. The Star, reporting the Anti-Counterfeit Authority's 2025 consumer study, put counterfeit prevalence in automotive spare parts at 21%, the highest of any category measured. A named brand and a number you can check are the answer we offer.
Right-hand and left-hand Isuzus: what carries over?
Traffic keeps left in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, so Isuzus there are in practice right-hand drive, while Saudi Isuzus are left-hand drive. Filters, brake parts, springs and engine kits are quoted by part number and engine, and new aftermarket versions are made for right-hand-drive models as well, so the side rarely decides them. Steering gear, dashboard parts and pedal assemblies belong to one side, and we quote those by part number only.
Emission level is the other split. Because the 4HK1-TCN is listed at Euro 2, 3 or 4 by market, a fleet that bought trucks from several markets may run mixed levels. Give the build year and the plate for each truck. If one list covers a Kenyan truck and a Saudi truck, say so, and a person quotes the lines separately.
What to send for an Isuzu quote, and what to check
Send the chassis number, the engine code from the plate, the model code, the wheelbase, the cab type, the build year and the country the truck runs in. Add a photograph of the old part with any number on it. Put every truck's parts on one list: a clutch kit for one truck alone is not an order we quote, and a list across a fleet is. A person confirms how to pay on WhatsApp once the lines are quoted.
Before you pay, compare the engine code on the quote with the plate for each truck, in particular TCN against TCC on a 4HK1 and TC against TCX on a 4JJ1. Wikipedia gives the 4JJ1-TCX a variable-geometry turbocharger that the TC lacks, and a TC kit is not assumed to fit a TCX. Confirm the grade in writing for every line, and ask for photographs that show the number on the part.
Who you are buying from
- Easy Auto is a UAE-licensed exporter of new car parts, genuine and aftermarket, quoted from Dubai.
- A person quotes every export order on WhatsApp, line by line, with each part's grade named: genuine, OE-brand or aftermarket.
- We quote export orders by the list, at trade quantities, not one or two pieces.
- New parts only. We do not supply used parts, half-cuts or rebuilt engines.
- Your own cargo agent or forwarder collects the parts in Dubai and ships them on. We do not ship abroad, book destination inspections or clear customs at your end.
- Before you pay, ask for photos of the parts with their part numbers in view.
UAE parts shops that export
These shops are here because our record of each one lists exporting, sending parts outside the UAE, among what it offers, and names Isuzu among the makes it covers. It is a record of what they told us or published, not a check that they send parts to your country today or of what is on the shelf, and none of them has paid to be here. Ask how the part reaches you, and who handles the export paperwork, before you pay.

Questions buyers ask
- Which engines does the Isuzu D-Max have?
- Wikipedia names the 4JA1 and 4JH1 on the first-generation truck, the 2.5 litre 4JK1 and the 3.0 litre 4JJ1 across the first and second, the 1.9 litre RZ4E from the 2015 update, and the 4JJ3-TCX 3.0 on the third generation. The engine plate settles which one your truck has.
- What is the difference between an Isuzu NPR, NQR and FRR?
- The second letter marks the cab and weight rating, according to Wikipedia's Elf article, and the N-Series is the lighter range. The FRR belongs to the heavier F-series, listed at 4 tonnes. Send the engine plate for any of them, because Wikipedia ties no engine to the FRR.
- Is the Isuzu Elf the same truck as the NPR?
- Largely. Elf is the name used in Japan, Mexico and Indonesia, and outside Japan the range is generally called the N-Series. Uganda's import agents still say Elf. Because the same family carries several engines, the chassis number and the engine plate decide the parts, not the name.
- Will a D-Max 4JJ1 part fit my NPR85?
- Do not assume it. Isuzu lists the NPR85's 4JJ1-TC at 130 PS and 330 Nm, while Wikipedia gives the D-Max 4JJ1-TCX 177 PS and 380 Nm by 2011. Same family, different tuning and turbocharger. Send both plates and the part number, and a person checks before quoting.
- Which Isuzu parts does Kenya's 17-category rule touch?
- KEBS told inspectors in 2019 that used brake pads, filters, bearings, spark plugs, clutch plates and ball joints, among 17 categories, may not enter Kenya. Buyers there order those lines new. Everything on an Isuzu list is quoted new with a grade, so the rule does not block a list from us.
- Do you export Isuzu engines?
- Not as complete units. A rebuild list for a 4HK1 or 4JJ1 is quoted new, with gaskets, pistons, bearings, timing parts, injector parts and pumps, and we supply no used, rebuilt or remanufactured engines or gearboxes. The separate engine-parts page covers the kits; the plate code tells a person which one.
- Can I order one clutch kit for one truck?
- A single clutch kit is below the trade quantities we quote. Put clutches, brake shoes, springs and engine kits for the whole fleet on one list with the chassis numbers, and the WhatsApp reply gives each line's grade and brand.
- Do Saudi N-Series trucks use the same parts as African ones?
- Many mechanical parts share a number, but not all. Saudi trucks are left-hand drive, East African ones right-hand drive, and Isuzu lists its engines at different Euro levels by market. Send the plate for each truck and a person says which lines on your list match.
