Heavy truck parts from Dubai for export: Hino, Actros, Scania, Volvo, MAN

Updated

The quick answer

Haulage fleets in East Africa, Ethiopia and the Gulf can send a list for Hino 300 and 500, Mercedes-Benz Actros and Axor, Scania, Volvo FH or MAN trucks, and a person quotes new service parts in trade quantities: brake linings, clutch kits, filters and suspension bushes. The engine plate, chassis number and axle type settle each line. Gas-charged cab shocks are not quoted. Your cargo agent collects in Dubai.

Key facts

  • Business Daily's 2025 table gave Scania East Africa 286 new vehicles in Kenya, up from 201, in a market of 13,583; it splits no other make's trucks.
  • The Star reported on 13 May 2025, at a HOWO launch, that the brand holds 55% of Kenya's heavy-duty market; HOWO is not on this page.
  • Wikipedia gives the Hino 500 as the export name of the Ranger Pro and the Hino 300 as the export name of the Dutro.
  • Wikipedia lists the Actros with OM 501 and OM 502 engines until the MP3, then the inline-six OM 470, 471 and 473 from the MP4 in 2011.
  • Gas-charged cab shocks, batteries, fluids and aerosols are left off every quote; brake linings, clutch kits, filters and bushes are quoted.
  • Knorr-Bremse says it has built commercial-vehicle brakes since 1920, and ZF completed its purchase of WABCO on 29 May 2020, per Wikipedia.
  • A Transport Employers Federation official told The Reporter in July 2023 that poor roads had raised the cost of maintaining more than 12,000 trucks in Ethiopia.
  • Ethiopia widened its fuel-vehicle import ban to petrol and diesel trucks in October 2025; we found no rule on new spare parts.

Which heavy truck is it, and what do the engine codes say?

Five makes are on this page, and each has been re-engined or renamed within the last fifteen years. Wikipedia dates the Actros generations as the MP1 in 1996, MP2 in 2003, MP3 in 2008, MP4 in 2011 and MP5 in 2018, with the OM 501 and OM 502 V6 and V8 engines giving way to the inline-six OM 470, 471 and 473 from the MP4. The Axor has been built since 2001 on the OM 906, 926 and 457 sixes, and a 2005 facelift moved the heavier Atego models into its range.

Scania's current range began with the P and R series in 2004 and added the G in 2007, the S in 2016 and the L in 2017, on engines such as the 9.3 litre five-cylinder DC09 and the 12.7 litre DC13. Volvo's D13 name covers the Euro III D13A of 2005 and the Euro VI D13K of the third-generation FH, relaunched in September 2012, which is why the plate matters. MAN's TGX and TGS replaced the TGA in 2007, and a third generation was unveiled on 10 February 2020.

The Hino pair is lighter. Wikipedia says the Dutro is officially marketed as the Hino 300 outside Japan, with 4,009 cc N04C and W04D four-cylinder diesels from 2011, and that the Ranger Pro is known as the 500 Series outside Japan, with engines from the 4.0 litre W04D and 5.2 litre J05E up to the 10.5 litre P11C. A 2018 trade report described Hino Kenya, a division of Toyota Kenya, as selling both series.

Where do heavy trucks work for these buyers, and how sure are we?

Kenya gives the firmest numbers, and they cut against this page. The Star reported on 13 May 2025, at the launch of the HOWO Max, that the HOWO brand holds 55% of Kenya's heavy-duty market. That is a Chinese make outside this page, and a claim made at a product launch. Business Daily's 2025 table gave Scania East Africa 286 new vehicles, up from 201, in a market of 13,583, and listed CFAO Mobility Kenya, whose brands include Mercedes-Benz and Hino, at 4,410 with Toyota and Volkswagen in the same total.

Scania has long supplied the region. Business Daily reported in February 2014 that it was taking over marketing and distribution in East Africa from Nairobi, having served Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi through a local firm. A 2018 trade report said Hino Kenya had five dealers and sold genuine parts at any branch. Neither gives a fleet count, and nothing we read counts Actros, Volvo or MAN trucks in Uganda, Tanzania or Ethiopia, so we claim none.

Ethiopia's haulage runs on the Djibouti road and rail corridor. A Transport Employers Federation official told The Reporter in July 2023 that poor roads had significantly raised the cost of maintaining more than 12,000 trucks. Ecofin Agency reported in October 2025 that the ban on fuel-powered imports reached petrol and diesel trucks, and we found no rule on new spare parts for vehicles already in the country. The state shipper's 2019 fleet included Sinotruk, Mac and Renault trucks, none of them on this page.

For the Gulf we found no brand-level truck counts at all. What we found is movement: while Hormuz container traffic was almost at a standstill on 2 September 2026, carriers ran truck landbridges through Saudi Arabia to Iraq and Kuwait, and a trade-press summary called Gulf trucking capacity a bottleneck. More trucks on longer routes is a reason to expect demand for service parts, but that is our reading and not a measured figure.

Which new service parts fill a heavy-truck trade list?

The lines that fill a heavy-truck list are the ones that wear on a schedule: brake linings and pads, clutch kits, oil, fuel and air filters, suspension bushes and spring pins, wheel bearings and seals, and cooling parts. Quantities are counted per truck and multiplied by the fleet, so ten tractor units mean ten clutch kits and ten sets of axle linings. We quote that kind of order, in trade quantities, and not a single kit for a single truck.

What decides a line is rarely the badge on the cab. Wikipedia lists the Axor in 4x2, 6x2, 6x4, 8x2S and 8x4 layouts, and the layout decides how many axles' worth of linings, bushes and bearings a truck needs. Knorr-Bremse presented its first heavy-truck disc brake at the 1969 Frankfurt show, so a fleet of mixed ages can hold drum-braked and disc-braked axles side by side. The axle's brake type and size set the lining, not the truck's name.

Some heavy-truck parts never go on a quote. Gas-charged cab shock absorbers are excluded because carriers can treat them as dangerous goods, and so are batteries, brake and coolant fluids and aerosols. Springs, bushes, arms, torque-rod bushes and the rest of the suspension are quoted. A person flags on the quote any line a carrier may treat as regulated, so that your agent can decide before collection.

Genuine, OE-brand or aftermarket on a heavy truck?

Three labels cover every line. Genuine is a part in the truck maker's own packaging, from Mercedes-Benz, Scania, Volvo, MAN or Hino, through a UAE distributor. OE-brand is a maker that supplies the truck builder, named on the line. Quality aftermarket is an independent brand made to the same pattern. For trucks the OE-brand tier is made of braking and driveline names, and we limit what we say to what sources support.

Two examples have support. Wikipedia says Knorr-Bremse worked with MAN on ABS, which MAN fitted as standard in 1981, and names WABCO for the braking system of the Actros. ZF completed its purchase of WABCO on 29 May 2020, so a WABCO part may now carry ZF ownership, and ZF's Sachs brand covers clutch systems and dampers, the latter for trucks among other vehicles. Whether a given part is OE-brand for your truck is checked per number, and a brand name alone is not accepted as proof.

We measured no heavy-truck price on 3 November 2026. The only ladder we hold is a Toyota pad set, at AED 322 to 399 genuine, AED 216 for a Japanese brake brand and AED 58 to 73 for budget pads, which shows the shape of a gap and not the size of one on a truck. Counterfeits are the other reason to name the brand: the Anti-Counterfeit Authority found 21% prevalence in Kenya's automotive spare parts in its 2025 study.

What do we need to match a heavy-truck part?

Send the chassis number, the engine plate with its code, the gearbox plate, the axle makes and sizes and whether each axle is drum or disc braked, the wheel layout such as 4x2 or 6x4, the cab type, the build year and the Euro level. For a Hino, add whether it is a 300 or a 500 and the engine code, because the 500 spans engines from 4.0 to 10.5 litres. For a Volvo, say whether the engine is a D13A, D13B, D13C or D13K, which Wikipedia lists as separate variants.

Put every truck of the fleet on one list with its chassis number, and give counts. A person replies on WhatsApp with each line's grade, brand and number, and says plainly which lines were matched only by engine code or by axle size. We do not supply truck engines or gearboxes in any form, used or rebuilt; only new parts for them are quoted.

What should you check before paying for heavy-truck parts?

Compare the engine code on the quote with the plate for each truck, and the axle and brake type with what your workshop sees at the wheel end. Ask for the brand and number against each line, a photograph of the box and of the part, and the distributor's invoice for genuine filters if you want one. A lining quoted for a drum axle will not fit a disc axle, so a quote that says only truck pads for Scania has no number yet and is not a quote.

Rules for truck parts are less documented than for cars. Kenya's reported list of 17 kinds of used wear part that must be new includes pads, bearings and clutch plates. Zimbabwe's certificate of conformity applies to vehicle parts under heading 87.08 above US$1,000 FOB. Saudi Arabia's regulation lists brake pads, filters and suspension, though we have not confirmed that it reaches truck parts. A person says on the quote what each line needs, and your agent and the importer settle who obtains it.

Questions buyers ask

Do you supply Hino 300 and Hino 500 parts?
Yes, as new parts in trade quantities, quoted by chassis number and engine code. The 300 and 500 are the export names of the Dutro and the Ranger Pro, and the 500 spans engines from the 4.0 litre W04D to the 10.5 litre P11C, according to Wikipedia, so the plate decides the line.
Which engine codes do the Actros and Axor use?
Wikipedia lists the OM 501 and OM 502 on earlier Actros generations and the inline-six OM 470, 471 and 473 from the MP4 of 2011, and the OM 906, 926 and 457 on the Axor. Send the code from the engine plate, because a generation name alone does not say which one you have.
Can I order brake linings for Scania or Volvo trucks in bulk?
Yes, by the list. Give the axle make and size and say whether each axle is drum or disc braked, because the lining follows the axle and not the badge on the cab. A lining quoted without those details has no number yet, and a person will ask for them before pricing.
Why are cab shock absorbers not quoted?
Gas-charged cab shocks are excluded because carriers can treat them as dangerous goods. Batteries, fluids and aerosols are left off for the same reason. Springs, bushes, arms and the rest of the suspension are quoted, so a fleet list can still carry the parts that wear.
What does OE-brand mean for a truck part?
A maker that supplies the truck builder, named on the quote line. Wikipedia supports two examples: Knorr-Bremse with MAN on ABS from 1981, and WABCO named for the Actros braking system. A person checks each part number, and a brand name alone is not accepted as proof of OE status.
Do you cover light trucks such as the Isuzu NPR or Fuso Canter?
Yes, on their own pages, which cover the Isuzu D-Max and N-Series and the Mitsubishi Fuso Canter by engine code. This page is for the heavier Hino 500, Actros, Axor, Scania, Volvo FH and MAN, where the axle, brake type and wheel layout matter as much as the engine.
Can an Ethiopian haulier order truck parts?
Yes, once a person has screened the buyer. Ecofin Agency reported that Ethiopia's ban on fuel-powered imports reached trucks in October 2025; we found no rule on new spare parts, so confirm with your clearing agent. Your own cargo agent collects in Dubai.
Do you supply truck engines or gearboxes?
No. Easy Auto exports new genuine, OE-brand and quality aftermarket parts only. For a truck engine a person quotes new parts such as gasket sets, bearings, pumps and clutch kits by engine code. We supply no engines or gearboxes, used or rebuilt, and no half-cuts.
What is the minimum order for truck parts?
We quote by the list at trade quantities, not for one or two pieces. A clutch kit and a set of linings for each truck in a fleet is a list; a single kit for one truck is not. Send the whole fleet in one message, and a person tells you whether the list is the right size.
