Nissan Patrol parts from Dubai for export: Y61, Y62 and Safari
Updated
The quick answer
Patrol owners in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Qatar send the VIN, the engine number and a list of parts, and a person quotes new genuine, OE-brand or quality aftermarket lines for it on WhatsApp. The engine decides most orders: the Y61 ran TB petrol sixes and a ZD30 diesel, and the Y62's 5.6 litre V8 carries two codes in the references. Your own cargo agent collects in Dubai.
Key facts
- The Patrol was Kuwait's third-best-selling model in 2025, up 23.6%, and Nissan held 9% of 152,879 new cars (Best Selling Cars Blog, February 2026).
- Qatar's 2025 table put the Patrol fifth, up 9.4%, in a market of 88,065 new vehicles; it was fourth in 2024.
- In Saudi Arabia Nissan sales fell 1.1% in 2025 and Ford took fourth place from the brand.
- Wikipedia dates the Y61 from October 1997 and the Y62 from January 2010; the Y62 reached the Middle East on 13 February 2010 in Abu Dhabi.
- The Y61's engines named are the TB42, TB45 and TB48DE petrol sixes and the ZD30DDTi 3.0 litre turbo diesel, among others.
- References give the Y62's 5.6 litre V8 as VK56DE in one place and VK56VD in another, so the engine number settles it.
- Qatar requires a pre-shipment certificate of conformity on brake pads, safety belts, wheel rims and tyres (Intertek).
- No Patrol prices appear here; a person quotes each line, with its grade, on WhatsApp.

Is your Patrol a Y61, a Y62 or a Safari?
Wikipedia's Patrol article dates the Y61 from October 1997 to April 2024, a run of more than 26 years. Nissan Shatai in Japan built it throughout, with other lines at different times in Spain, South Africa, Morocco, Pakistan and the Philippines. The Middle East also took special editions of the Y61, among them the Super Safari, Falcon, Gazelle and Al Ostoura, so a Gulf Y61 is not always a plain catalogue truck.
The Y62 followed in January 2010, and Nissan launched it in the Middle East on 13 February 2010 in Abu Dhabi. Gulf trims run XE, SE, SE-Platinum City, LE, LE-Titanium, LE-Platinum City and the Nismo. The seventh-generation Y63 has been on sale in the Middle East since 1 November 2024, and this page does not cover it: send the VIN and a person says what can be quoted. Safari is the name the Y60 and Y61 carried in Japan, so a Safari owner reads the Y61 row.
One caution about references. Wikipedia's own Patrol article gives GR as the right-hand-drive code in its Y60 section and as the left-hand-drive code in its Y61 section, so we never match a truck by a two-letter prefix. The 17-character VIN and the number on the engine are what a person checks.
| Generation | Dates and builders | Engines the references name |
|---|---|---|
| Y61 (Safari in Japan) | October 1997 to April 2024; Japan, with lines in Spain, South Africa, Morocco, Pakistan and the Philippines | TB42, TB45 and TB48DE petrol; RD28ETi, ZD30DDTi and TD42 diesels |
| Y62 | From January 2010; Middle East launch 13 February 2010; also built in Lagos from 2014 to 2024 | VQ40DE 4.0 V6; VK56DE and VK56VD 5.6 V8 |
| Y63 | On sale in the Middle East from 1 November 2024 | Not covered here; send the VIN |
Which engines do Patrol owners ask for?
The Y61's petrol engines are the TB family of inline sixes. Wikipedia's engine article gives the TB42 as 4,169 cc with overhead valves and 175 PS, with fuel injection added in 1992. The TB45 is 4,479 cc, again overhead valve, and the E carries fuel injection where the S has a carburettor. The TB48DE, dated 2001, is 4,759 cc with twin overhead camshafts and valve timing control, rated 251 PS and 420 Nm, and the Y61's five-speed automatic is listed for this engine alone.
The diesel to ask about is the ZD30DDTi, a 2,953 cc turbocharged four. Wikipedia describes a first generation with a VP44 distributor pump and an intercooler, rated 116 kW and 352 Nm in the Y61 from September 1999 to August 2002, and a second generation on Bosch common rail at 1,600 bar from 2007. It lists a Patrol rating for the second generation without dates, so a later Y61 diesel could carry either design, and the injection parts differ.
The Y62 offers a 4.0 litre VQ40DE V6 on entry trims and a 5.6 litre V8 above them, and the references disagree on the V8's code. Wikipedia's VK article lists the Patrol under both the VK56DE, 317 to 320 hp, for 2010 to 2016 and the VK56VD, with direct injection and variable valve lift at 400 hp, for 2010 to 2023. A CarAdvice listing gives VK56VD while an Australian review gives VK56DE. Treat the code as unknown until the number on the engine is read, because the two differ in fuelling and valve gear.
| Code | What the references say it is | Where it sits |
|---|---|---|
| TB42 | 4.2 litre petrol six, 4,169 cc, 175 PS, overhead valve | Y61; fuel injection from 1992 |
| TB45E and TB45S | 4.5 litre petrol six, 4,479 cc, overhead valve; two ratings given | Y61; E has injection, S a carburettor |
| TB48DE | 4.8 litre petrol six, 4,759 cc, twin cam, 251 PS and 420 Nm | Y61; the five-speed automatic is listed for this engine alone |
| ZD30DDTi | 3.0 litre turbo diesel four, 2,953 cc; VP44 pump, later common rail | Y61; first generation dated September 1999 to August 2002 |
| VQ40DE | 4.0 litre V6 | Y62 XE and SE trims as of 2017 |
| VK56DE | 5.6 litre V8, 5,552 cc, 317 to 320 hp in its own table | Y62 entry trims before the VQ40DE; Patrol 2010 to 2016 in the VK table |
| VK56VD | 5.6 litre V8, 32 valves, direct injection, 400 hp in the Patrol | Y62 upper trims and Nismo; Patrol 2010 to 2023 in the VK table |
Which countries run the Patrol, and what do they check?
Kuwait is the clearest market. Best Selling Cars Blog's 2025 table puts the Patrol third among models, up 23.6%, behind the Land Cruiser and the Prado, with Nissan holding 9% of 152,879 new cars. A Kuwaiti Patrol is a left-hand-drive Gulf truck like the UAE's, though we ask for the VIN to confirm. Kuwait Times reported a severe parts shortage on 28 July 2026, adding that dealers held back genuine filters and similar items for their own service bays, so a Kuwaiti workshop may look to Dubai for a full list.
Qatar is smaller. The Patrol was fourth among its models in 2024 and fifth in 2025, although its sales rose 9.4% in a market of 88,065 new vehicles. Qatar requires a certificate of conformity, issued before shipment, on brake pads, safety belts, wheel rims and tyres. If pads are on your Patrol list, ask on WhatsApp before you order, because the certificate has to exist before the goods leave the UAE.
In Saudi Arabia Nissan sales fell 1.1% in 2025 and Ford took fourth place, and the free tables do not show the Patrol's own rank, so we cite none. Saudi Arabia bans used car parts except certified remanufactured engines, gearboxes, differentials and outer bodies, which is one reason a Saudi Patrol list is new parts. Iraq put Nissan third among brands in 2025, behind Kia and Toyota, with 160,737 new vehicles in all. We found no source ranking the Patrol inside that, and Iraq's duty on parts is still unclear under Decision 957.
Which new Patrol parts can a list carry, system by system?
A Patrol list is usually built around the engine and the gearbox, because those two codes decide most part numbers. Wikipedia names the Y61's four-speed RE4R03A and five-speed RE5R05A automatics and two manual boxes. For the Y62 it names a five-speed automatic, the seven-speed RE7R01B and a six-speed manual sold from 2010 to 2016. A gearbox seal or filter kit is therefore quoted against the gearbox code, never against the model name alone.
Suspension splits too. Wikipedia says the Y62 Desert Edition has ordinary suspension in place of the hydraulic body-control system that the other trims carry, so shock absorbers and struts for the two are different lists. Lamps and grilles split by year as well: the trade-press articles Wikipedia cites point to Gulf Y62 changes in 2014 and again in 2019. Tell us the trim and the build year, and photograph the old part with its number.
| System | What a list can carry | What decides the part |
|---|---|---|
| Service | Oil, air and fuel filters, spark plugs on the petrol trucks, drive belts | Engine code, and for the ZD30 the generation |
| Brakes | Pad sets, discs, calipers, hoses | Trim and axle; Qatar certifies pads, belts and rims |
| Suspension | Shock absorbers, springs, bushes, ball joints, control arms | Y61 or Y62; hydraulic body control or ordinary suspension |
| Cooling | Radiators, water pumps, thermostats, hoses | Engine code: six, V6 or V8 |
| Engine rebuild | Gasket sets, piston and ring sets, bearings, timing parts, oil pump | Exact code: TB45 against TB48DE, VK56DE against VK56VD |
| Gearbox service | Gasket, seal and filter kits | Gearbox code, such as RE4R03A, RE5R05A or RE7R01B |
| Lamps and body | Headlamps, tail lamps, grilles, bumpers, mirrors | Trim and build year |
Genuine, OE-brand or quality aftermarket for a Patrol?
We use three labels. Genuine is a Nissan-branded part from a UAE distributor. OE-brand is made by a firm that also supplies the carmaker, such as Denso, Aisin, KYB or NGK, and is quoted under its own name. Quality aftermarket is an independent brand made to the Nissan pattern, such as GMB or NPW. Each Patrol line carries one label, the brand and the part number, so two quotes compare like with like.
The only price ladder we have measured in Dubai is on Toyota parts, on 3 November 2026, with 5% VAT included. One front pad set, Toyota number 04465-60380, was AED 322 to 399 as a genuine part, AED 216 from MK Kashiyama, a Japanese brake brand, and AED 58 to 73 from budget brands. We have not measured a Patrol ladder and print no Patrol price, but the spread shows why the label matters.
The word genuine proves little alone. One Dubai listing for a budget brake pad at AED 58, read on 3 November 2026, describes it as genuine quality. A Patrol quote therefore names the brand on the box and the number on the part, and says in plain words which of the three labels each line carries.
Gulf Patrol, US Armada or Japan Safari: what matches yours?
Nissan sold the Y62 in North America as the Armada from the 2017 model year, and as the Infiniti QX56 from 2010, renamed QX80 later. Wikipedia's VK article lists the Armada and the QX80 with the same 5.6 litre V8 family, at 390 to 400 hp for the Armada against 400 hp for the Patrol. A shared engine family does not make a part interchangeable: a number found under Armada or QX80 is a lead for a person to check against your Gulf VIN, not a match.
On the Y61 side, the Safari in Japan, the Gulf special editions and the trucks built in South Africa and Morocco can differ in equipment around similar engines. If your truck's engine is not the one its first owner bought, say so, because we quote to the engine in the truck. A Y61 pickup is its own body as well: Wikipedia says it entered production at Nissan Shatai in April 2011, so say whether you drive the wagon or the pickup.
What to send and what to check before you pay
Send the 17-character VIN, the engine number, the month and year of build, the trim, the gearbox code if you know it, and a photograph of the old part with its number. Put every part on one list: a Patrol list quoted together is the order we quote, and a single pad set or one filter is not. A person replies with each line's label, brand and part number, and confirms on WhatsApp how to pay.
Three checks matter most on a Patrol. First, the V8's code on a Y62. Second, the ZD30's generation on a Y61 diesel. Third, the gearbox code, since the five-speed automatic is listed for the TB48DE alone, so an automatic Y61 with another engine has the four-speed. Read each against the engine and gearbox numbers on your truck, and on a genuine line ask which UAE distributor it came from, because a distributor can issue an invoice for the lot where it allows.
Who you are buying from
- Easy Auto is a UAE-licensed exporter of new car parts, genuine and aftermarket, quoted from Dubai.
- A person quotes every export order on WhatsApp, line by line, with each part's grade named: genuine, OE-brand or aftermarket.
- We quote export orders by the list, at trade quantities, not one or two pieces.
- New parts only. We do not supply used parts, half-cuts or rebuilt engines.
- Your own cargo agent or forwarder collects the parts in Dubai and ships them on. We do not ship abroad, book destination inspections or clear customs at your end.

Questions buyers ask
- Which engines does the Nissan Patrol Y61 have?
- Wikipedia names the TB42, TB45 and TB48DE petrol sixes and the RD28ETi, ZD30DDTi and TD42 diesels for the Y61. The ZD30DDTi is a 2,953 cc turbo four with two generations, so a diesel Y61 needs its engine number read before injection parts are quoted.
- Is the Nissan Safari the same as the Patrol?
- Safari is the name the Y60 and Y61 carried in Japan. Wikipedia's own article gives two end years for the Y61 Safari, 2005 and 2007. If you drive a Safari, send the plate number and the engine number and we read it as a Y61.
- Is my Y62 a VK56DE or a VK56VD?
- The references disagree. Wikipedia lists the Patrol under both codes, and a CarAdvice listing and an Australian review give one code each. The two differ in fuelling and valve gear, so a person reads the number on the engine before quoting gaskets, plugs or injectors.
- Does a US Armada or Infiniti QX80 part fit my Gulf Patrol?
- Not by assumption. The Armada and QX80 share the 5.6 litre V8 family, but Wikipedia lists the Armada at 390 to 400 hp against 400 hp for the Patrol. Send the part number and your VIN, and a person checks whether the number matches before any quote.
- Do you export Patrol engines?
- Not a whole engine. What goes inside one is what we quote, new: gaskets, pistons and rings, bearings, timing parts and the pumps. Used, rebuilt and remanufactured engines or gearboxes are not something we supply. The engine number sets the kit and its grade.
- Can I order one set of Patrol brake pads?
- We quote by the list at trade quantities, so one pad set on its own is not an order we take. Put pads, filters, suspension parts and engine parts for your trucks on one list and send it with the VIN. Qatar also certifies pads before shipment.
- Is there a parts shortage for the Patrol in Kuwait?
- Kuwait Times reported a severe car parts shortage on 28 July 2026 and tied it to the Hormuz crisis. It said dealers were holding back genuine filters and similar items for their own service bays. We claim no stock; send the list and a person says what can be quoted.
- Does the new Y63 Patrol change what you can quote?
- The Y63 has been on sale in the Middle East since 1 November 2024, and this page covers the Y61 and Y62. For a Y63, send the VIN and the part you need, and a person tells you on WhatsApp whether a new part can be quoted.
