3UR-FE 5.7 V8 engine parts from Dubai for export

Wikipedia describes the 3UR-FE as a 5.7 litre V8 of 5,663 cc, with a 94 mm bore, a 102 mm stroke, four valves a cylinder, Dual VVT-i and timing chains, rated at 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet. Its compression ratio is 10.2:1, it has no direct injection and its service weight is 222 kg. The engines for the Land Cruiser and Lexus were cast and assembled in Tahara, Japan, while the Tundra and Sequoia engines were assembled at Toyota's Alabama plant.

One more code travels with it. The 3UR-FBE is the E85 flex-fuel version, used in the 2009 to 2013 Tundra and the 2009 to 2014 Sequoia, and Toyota's bulletin lists the two codes together. Wikipedia says the Land Cruiser 200 carried the 3UR-FE in the United States, the Middle East and left-hand-drive African markets only, so right-hand-drive markets are not expected to run it in that truck.

Kuwait is the clearest fit. The Land Cruiser was the country's best seller in 2025 with 7.3% of 152,879 new vehicles, the Prado second and the Nissan Patrol third, according to BestSellingCarsBlog. Kuwait's statistics bureau counted 2,522,933 registered vehicles at the end of 2023, 80 percent of them private cars. Kuwait Times reported on 28 July 2026 that dealers were keeping genuine filters for their own workshops and that cylinder heads and crankshaft pulleys had left the resale market. Our reading is that owners who cannot find an old head are left with new parts.

Saudi Arabia's 2025 market of 857,247 new vehicles was led by Toyota at 28.6%, and Saudi law bans used car parts other than certified remanufactured main units, which leaves new parts as the route for pumps, gaskets and sensors. In Iraq the 2024 write-up also names the Land Cruiser beside the Hilux, and an Iraqi buyer has asked us about an LX 570. None of these sources splits sales by engine, so a V8 count is unknown and the VIN decides.

The 8020 Automotive repair blog, published on 27 March 2021 and updated on 19 November 2024, calls cam tower leaks truly common on the 5.7, typically between 50,000 and 100,000 miles, with oil dripping from the rear of the engine onto the exhaust manifold. It says Toyota seals the towers with sealant rather than a gasket. The author lists no credentials, and we found no Toyota bulletin on the leak, so read this as workshop experience and not as a Toyota position.

The same blog says water pump failures are less common than cam tower leaks. The usual fault is an internal seal or bearing that lets coolant out of the weep hole, typically at 60,000 to 100,000 miles, with many pumps running past 150,000. It puts the pump at 70 to 150 dollars against 250 to 600 dollars of labour over three to six hours, and suggests changing the thermostat and the drive belt at the same time. For a trade list that advice becomes a bundle: pump, thermostat and belt, each with its grade named.

Toyota's bulletin T-SB-0160-11 was first issued on 17 October 2011 and revised in February and July 2012. It covers a check-engine condition in 2007 to 2011 Tundra and 2008 to 2011 Sequoia trucks sold in the United States. The codes are P0418 and P0419 for the pump circuit, P2440 to P2443 for switching valves stuck open or closed, and P2445 and P2447 for a pump stuck off. Toyota gives the cause as water getting into the air pump assemblies and lists the 3UR-FE and 3UR-FBE among the affected engines.

The most useful line for a buyer is the replacement rule. Where moisture is found in the pumps or valves, the bulletin says all the air pumps and all the emission control valves must be replaced together, and that missing one invites a comeback repair. Its parts table lists two air pump assemblies for the 3UR-FE, the air pump inlet, and the air tube and intake manifold gaskets. The numbers it prints begin 17610 for the pumps and 25701 for the switching valves.

Two cautions apply. The bulletin is marked for the US market, and we have found no source saying that GCC-specification Land Cruisers and LX 570s carry the same air-injection hardware, so we confirm by VIN before quoting a set. And Toyota's parts table splits some lines by build month, so the month on the vehicle plate matters as much as the engine code.

No 3UR-FE price was measured on 3 November 2026. The two Dubai ladders we did read, a V6 water pump and Land Cruiser 300 front pads, put Toyota's genuine part at about 1.5 times an OE-brand part and 1.7 to 1.9 times a good aftermarket part. We do not carry those ratios across to the V8, and each line is quoted from its own number with the grade named.

On the blog's own figures the part is the smaller share of a water pump job, which is one reason an owner may choose the better grade. The decision is the buyer's, and we quote the alternatives on one list. Where Toyota's bulletin names a set, such as the air pumps and valves, we quote the matched set from one grade, because the bulletin warns against replacing only part of it.

Four things can differ between two trucks that both read 3UR-FE: the plant that built the engine, the flex-fuel FBE variant, the emission hardware of the market and the build month. Wikipedia puts the Land Cruiser and Lexus engines at Tahara and the Tundra and Sequoia engines at the Alabama plant, and Toyota's own parts table lists some parts by build date. A line that fits one truck can be wrong for its neighbour.

If your truck is a Gulf-built Land Cruiser 200 or LX 570, send the VIN and the build month, and a person matches each line to Toyota's splits. If it is a US-built Tundra or Sequoia, say so, because that is the group the bulletin and most of the workshop writing describe. Engine-internal parts are quoted by engine code and number, and steering side is not a factor in them.

Send the VIN, the engine code from the plate, either 3UR-FE or 3UR-FBE, and the build month. For a leak, photograph where the oil or coolant shows. The blog places cam tower seepage at the rear of the engine and pump leaks at the weep hole, so a clear photo lets a person suggest the bundle and not a single part. Add the old part's number if it is legible.

Write the list per engine. A typical line set is a pump kit of three items, a cam tower sealing set with its sealant, and the two air pump assemblies with the valve set.
