Column three is the salvage route: 1 of the 19 are used-parts yards — Umm Al Quwain 1. A used Forester panel is cheap; a used Subaru gearbox needs a written warranty.

Some Subaru parts are not Subaru parts. The BRZ shares the FA20 2.0 litre boxer engine of the first generation and the FA24D 2.4 litre boxer of the second with the Toyota 86 / GT86 / GR86.

Ask for the Subaru number and the Toyota number together — the same box, two prices.

A boxer layout does not tell a counter which engine is in the car. Subaru's own release for the fifth-generation Forester lists the FB25, a 2.5 litre direct-injection flat-four, yet the fourth-generation Outback is listed with an EJ253 2.5 for the 2010 to 2012 model years and an FB25B 2.5 for 2013 and 2014. Two different 2.5 litre engines under one generation code is the reason to send the engine code with the chassis number, not just the badge.

The WRX needs the same care. Subaru's 2015 WRX announcement describes a 2.0 litre direct-injection turbo from the FA series, and its 2022 WRX announcement describes a 2.4 litre direct-injection turbo, so the VA and the VB are different engines as well as different cars. The STI sold beside the VA is listed with the EJ207 in Japan and the EJ257 for export, which is why a WRX quote and a WRX STI quote are not interchangeable.

The years in the table are model years as Subaru's own US announcements name them. The fifth-generation Forester debuted in March 2018 and Subaru calls it the 2019 Forester; the seventh-generation Outback debuted in April 2025 as the 2026 Outback. A car built for another market can wear a different label. The Forester SH is a 2009 model in Subaru's US timeline, yet it was unveiled in Japan in December 2007 as a model year 2008 car, so a 2008 Forester can be an SH. Lean on the generation code and let the chassis number settle the year.

One naming change helps with the XV. Subaru's Japanese announcement of September 2022 says the Crosstrek and XV names, used market by market until then, became Crosstrek worldwide for the third generation, so the GP and the GT are XVs outside North America while the GU is a Crosstrek everywhere.

No Subaru figure is printed here, because we found no UAE seller publishing a price for these parts with a name and a date attached. What can be said honestly is what moves the number, and on a Subaru that is the engine before it is the year.

Give the engine code first. EJ, FB and FA are different engine families, and a 2.5 litre displacement appears as an EJ and as an FB inside the same Outback generation. A quote that names only the displacement has not told you which engine it is pricing.

Say whether the car is a WRX or a WRX STI, because on the VA the two are not the same engine, and say whether it is a manual or an automatic: the 2015 WRX was announced with a six-speed manual and an automatic that Subaru calls Sport Lineartronic.

Subaru describes the Forester, Outback, WRX and Crosstrek in its own announcements as Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive cars, so a driveline quote should name the component it covers. Ask for the part number behind each line, so that two quotes can be set side by side.
