Selling genuine, OE-brand and aftermarket parts online: how each is listed
Updated
The quick answer
Yes, you can sell aftermarket parts online through Easy Auto, as well as genuine and OE-brand parts, as long as every part is new and is what its brand says it is. In your stock list the brand column tells the grades apart: Toyota for a genuine Toyota part, Denso for a Denso part made to the same number, Mann for an aftermarket filter. The same part number can therefore be three different offers at three prices. Most part lines were open to any grade: of 304 part lines on Easy Auto's WhatsApp between 7 October and 2 November 2026, 70% would take any grade, 12% asked for genuine only and 7.6% for aftermarket only.
Key facts
- Genuine, OE-brand and aftermarket parts can all be listed, provided they are new and carry their brand with the brand owner's permission.
- The brand column is what tells the grades apart. A genuine part carries the carmaker's brand; brand spellings such as TOY GEN are cleaned to ours when we map your file.
- One part number can be several offers at once: a genuine part, an OE-brand part and an aftermarket part, each priced from its own supplier price.
- Of 304 WhatsApp part lines, 7 October to 2 November 2026, 212 would take any grade, 37 asked for genuine only and 23 for aftermarket only.
- An OE-brand or aftermarket line is found by a request by car only through the genuine number it replaces. 66,479 of the 91,328 stock lines we held on 3 November 2026 carried one.
- Parts that carry a brand without its owner's permission are counterfeit, and must not be sent.

Three grades, one number
A car part usually exists in three grades. A genuine part is sold under the carmaker's own brand. An OE-brand part is made by a company that supplies the carmaker, sold under that company's own name. An aftermarket part is made by another company to fit the same car. Our guide to genuine, OEM and aftermarket parts in the UAE explains the differences for buyers, including the price gaps, warranty and counterfeit risks; this page is about how each grade is listed when you sell it.
What matters for listing is that all three can share a part number, or be cross-referenced to the same genuine number. A customer who asks for that number can be offered any of them. So your list has to say, line by line, which grade each part is, and it does that through one column: the brand.
| Grade | Brand column says | Part number column | Genuine number column |
|---|---|---|---|
| Genuine | The carmaker, such as Toyota | The carmaker's number | Not needed: it is the same number |
| OE-brand | The maker, such as Denso | The maker's own number | The carmaker's number it replaces |
| Aftermarket | The maker, such as Mann | The maker's own number | The carmaker's number it replaces |
How the brand column is read
Brand names arrive in every spelling: TOY, TOYOTA GEN, Toyota Genuine, DENSO JP, MANN-FILTER. When we map your file, each spelling is matched to our brand once, and the rule is remembered for every later file. A spelling that says the part is genuine keeps that flag, so a genuine line is kept apart from an aftermarket one at the same number.
If your whole list is one brand, you do not need a brand column at all: tell us the brand in the note when you send the file. If a line has no brand and no note covers it, it is set aside rather than guessed.
The flag matters most where a carmaker and its own supplier share a number. A Toyota line marked genuine and a line from one of Toyota's suppliers under that supplier's own name can both answer the same genuine number. With the flag and the brand each row carries, they stay two offers, each labelled for what it is.

One number, several offers
Because grades share numbers, one customer request can meet several lines at once: lines in your own list, or lines in the lists of several suppliers. Each line is a separate offer. It carries its own price, set by our pricing rules from that line's supplier price, and its own readiness time, from the location its warehouse or stock code was mapped to. A customer can be offered more than one of them.
For a supplier, the practical rule is one row per brand and number. Two grades at one number belong in two rows, each with its own brand; one row cannot be two offers. Kept that way, listing every grade you hold adds offers instead of muddling them, and a customer who wants the cheaper known brand and one who wants the carmaker's own box can both be answered from your stock.
| Offer | Priced from | Ready from | Found through |
|---|---|---|---|
| The genuine line | The supplier price on that line | The location its warehouse code maps to | Its own part number, which is the carmaker's number |
| The OE-brand line | The supplier price on that line | The location its warehouse code maps to | The carmaker's number in its genuine-number column |
| The aftermarket line | The supplier price on that line | The location its warehouse code maps to | The carmaker's number in its genuine-number column |
Why the genuine-number column matters for aftermarket parts
Most customers do not ask for an aftermarket number. They ask for the part for their car, and Easy Auto turns that into the carmaker's number first. An aftermarket or OE-brand line is only found if your list says which genuine number it replaces. That one column is the difference between an aftermarket line that requests starting from the car can find and one that is found only by its own number.
If your system keeps cross-references, include them. A cell can hold more than one genuine number when one part replaces several.
Across the stock lists we held on 3 November 2026, 66,479 of 91,328 lines (73%) carried a genuine cross-reference. The other 24,849 are not all a problem: genuine lines need none, because their own number is the carmaker's. For an OE-brand or aftermarket line, though, a missing cross-reference means a request that starts from the car cannot reach it, however well it is priced.

What customers ask for
When the shop's WhatsApp records a customer's preference, most lines do not insist on a grade. Of 304 part lines between 7 October and 2 November 2026, 212 (70%) would take any grade, 37 asked for genuine only and 23 for aftermarket only; 32 had no preference recorded. A customer open to any grade can be offered any matching line.
That is why listing every grade you hold is worth it. A shop that lists only its genuine stock misses the customers who would rather pay less for a known aftermarket brand, and the other way round.
Read the table below across. Of the 272 lines with a preference on record, a genuine line fits 249 and an OE-brand or aftermarket line with its cross-reference fits 235. Neither grade fits all of them; a supplier that lists both, at the same numbers, fits all 272.
The grade customers asked for
- Any grade: 212 (70%)
- Genuine only: 37 (12%)
- Aftermarket only: 23 (7.6%)
- Not recorded: 32 (11%)
| Customer asked for | Part lines | Share of lines | A genuine line fits | A non-genuine line fits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Any grade | 212 | 70% | Yes | Yes |
| Genuine only | 37 | 12% | Yes | No |
| Aftermarket only | 23 | 7.6% | No | Yes |
| Not recorded | 32 | 11% | Not known | Not known |
Pros and cons of listing each grade
Every grade has a case for and against it on Easy Auto, and none of them is about which part is better on the car; that is the buyer's question, answered in the guide. These are listing questions: which requests a line can meet, and what it needs before a request can find it.
| Grade | In its favour | Against it |
|---|---|---|
| Genuine | Found by the carmaker's number with no cross-reference needed; fits genuine-only requests, 37 of 304 lines | Does not fit aftermarket-only requests, 23 of 304 lines |
| OE-brand | Fits any-grade and aftermarket-only requests; its own number also finds it when someone asks by that number | Reached by a request by car only through its cross-reference; does not fit genuine-only requests |
| Aftermarket | Fits any-grade and aftermarket-only requests, and gives a customer a second price at the same number | Reached by a request by car only through its cross-reference; does not fit genuine-only requests |
| Own-brand or unbranded, labelled as such | Can be listed when it is labelled for what it is | Without a cross-reference it is found only by its own number |
Listing each grade, step by step
First, put each part's brand in the brand column as your system already holds it; the spellings are matched to ours once, when the file is mapped, and remembered after that. Second, keep genuine lines saying genuine in their brand spelling, such as TOY GEN or Toyota Genuine, so the flag carries through every load.
Third, give every OE-brand and aftermarket line the genuine number it replaces, in a column of its own, with several numbers in one cell where one part replaces several. Fourth, give each brand its own row, even where two brands share a number.
Fifth, if the whole list is one brand, leave the brand column out and name the brand in the note. Sixth, leave out anything used, refurbished or rebuilt; those lines are set aside, because stock lists on Easy Auto are for new parts. Then send the file through the upload form or by email, and a person checks it before anything goes live.
Grade mistakes in stock lists: sign, cause and fix
Most grade problems are not about the parts at all. They come from how a list was exported: a column left empty, two columns swapped, two brands squeezed into one row. Each one has a visible sign once your file is loaded, and each fix is made in the file itself, so it holds for every load after that.
If you are not sure which of these applies, send the file anyway with a note. A person checks every file before anything goes live, and the questions about brands and grades are settled in that first conversation.
| Sign | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Your OE-brand and aftermarket lines are never offered | No genuine number sits beside them, so a request that starts from the car cannot reach them | Export the cross-references your system holds into a genuine-number column |
| Lines are set aside for having no brand | The brand cell is empty and no note names the brand | Fill the column, or, if the whole list is one brand, name it in the note |
| Only one of two grades at a number appears | Both brands were written into one row | Give each brand its own row with its own price and quantity |
| Lines are rarely offered although every number is in the file | The maker's number and the carmaker's number are in each other's columns | Put the maker's own number under part number and the carmaker's under genuine number |
| Lines are set aside as not new | The condition column marks them used, refurbished or rebuilt | Leave those lines out: stock lists on Easy Auto are for new parts |
What stays off a stock list
Two kinds of line are left out. Used, refurbished or rebuilt parts are set aside, because stock lists on Easy Auto are for new parts. And parts that carry a brand without its owner's permission are counterfeit: selling them is against the law in the UAE, and they must not be sent. Unbranded or own-brand aftermarket parts are fine when they are labelled for what they are.
| Line | Listed | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Genuine, new | Yes | It carries the carmaker's brand and number |
| OE-brand, new | Yes | It carries its real maker's brand |
| Aftermarket, new | Yes | It carries its real maker's brand |
| Own-brand or unbranded, labelled for what it is | Yes | Nothing on it claims another maker |
| Used, refurbished or rebuilt | No, set aside | Stock lists on Easy Auto are for new parts |
| A part carrying a brand without its owner's permission | No: do not send it | It is counterfeit |
UAE law on counterfeit and non-conforming parts
Keeping counterfeits off a stock list is also the law. Federal Decree-Law No. 42 of 2023 on combating commercial fraud, in force since 29 November 2023 and applying in free zones as well as on the mainland, defines counterfeit goods as goods that carry, without permission, a trademark identical or similar to a registered one. It prohibits importing, displaying, selling, storing, transporting, marketing, promoting or holding them for sale, and it makes describing or displaying goods with false or misleading data an offence in its own right.
The penalty is up to two years in prison and/or a fine of AED 5,000 to AED 1,000,000, rising to AED 100,000 to AED 2,000,000 in aggravated cases. A seller is not excused because the buyer knew the goods were counterfeit, and must refund or exchange them for a buyer acting in good faith. The trademark law, Federal Decree-Law No. 36 of 2021, separately makes knowingly selling, offering or holding for sale goods with a counterfeited or imitated trademark a crime, punishable by up to one year in prison and/or a fine of AED 50,000 to AED 200,000.
Grade also touches conformity. Under Cabinet Resolution No. 12 of 2018, the UAE scheme for automotive spare parts, importers, agents and distributors count as suppliers and must obtain a conformity certificate before offering any part type on the scheme's schedule, which includes braking systems, brake pads, engine radiators, safety belts, rear-view mirrors, lead-acid starter batteries, oil filters, air filters and laminated safety glass. Any part can show conformity through the Emirates Quality Mark or another recognised conformity mark, and a genuine part also through the manufacturer's test report and declaration of conformity. The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology now issues the certificates, and the fraud law counts goods that do not meet UAE specifications as fraudulent goods.
This section is a summary of Federal Decree-Law No. 42 of 2023, Federal Decree-Law No. 36 of 2021 and Cabinet Resolution No. 12 of 2018, as read on 4 November 2026, for orientation only and not legal advice.

Questions suppliers ask
- Can I sell aftermarket car parts online in the UAE?
- Yes. Aftermarket parts can be listed with Easy Auto alongside genuine and OE-brand parts, as long as they are new and carry their real maker's brand.
- How do you know which of my lines are genuine?
- From the brand column. A genuine part carries the carmaker's brand, and spellings that say genuine keep that flag when we map your file.
- Can the same part number be listed twice?
- Yes, as different brands. A genuine part and an aftermarket part sharing a number are two offers, each priced from its own supplier price.
- Do customers prefer genuine parts?
- Most part lines did not insist. Of 304 WhatsApp part lines, 70% would take any grade and 12% asked for genuine only.
- My list is all one brand. Do I need a brand column?
- No. Tell us the brand in the note when you send the file, and it is applied to every line.
- Can I list copies of branded parts?
- No. A part carrying a brand without its owner's permission is counterfeit and must not be sent. Unbranded or own-brand parts labelled for what they are can be listed.
- What is the difference between genuine and OE-brand parts?
- Who sells them, mainly: a genuine part comes under the carmaker's brand, an OE-brand part under the name of the company that supplies the carmaker. The buyer's guide to genuine, OEM and aftermarket parts covers the rest.
- Do genuine lines need a genuine-number column?
- No. A genuine line's own part number is the carmaker's number, so a request by car finds it directly. The column is for OE-brand and aftermarket lines.
- How many stock lines carry a cross-reference today?
- 66,479 of the 91,328 lines we held on 3 November 2026, which is 73%. Genuine lines make up part of the rest and do not need one.
- Should I list only my genuine stock?
- Not if you hold other grades. Of the 272 WhatsApp part lines with a preference on record, a genuine line fits 249; listing your non-genuine stock as well, with cross-references, covers the 23 that asked for aftermarket only.
- Can I list used or rebuilt parts?
- No. Stock lists on Easy Auto are for new parts, so lines marked used, refurbished or rebuilt are set aside when the file loads.
- My system writes brands as short codes. Is that a problem?
- No. Each code is matched to our brand name once, when your file is first mapped, and the rule is reused for every later file. A code that says genuine keeps the genuine flag.
- Does an aftermarket line fit a request for genuine only?
- No. A customer who asked for genuine only wants the carmaker's own part, which in your list is a line under the carmaker's brand. 37 of 304 WhatsApp part lines, 7 October to 2 November 2026, asked for genuine only.
- Can an OE-brand part be listed under the carmaker's brand?
- No. List it under the brand on its box. A part in a Denso box is a Denso line, even where Denso also supplies that part to the carmaker; the carmaker's brand is for parts sold in the carmaker's own packaging.
- Is selling copies of branded parts illegal in the UAE?
- Yes. Federal Decree-Law No. 42 of 2023 prohibits selling, displaying or holding for sale goods that carry a registered trademark without permission, with up to two years in prison and/or a fine of AED 5,000 to AED 1,000,000. The buyer's knowledge is no defence. This is a summary for orientation, not legal advice.
- Do some part types need a conformity certificate?
- Yes. Cabinet Resolution No. 12 of 2018 lists part types, among them brake pads, radiators, starter batteries and oil and air filters, that need a conformity certificate before they are offered. The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology issues it. This is a summary for orientation, not legal advice.
- Can I list own-brand parts?
- Yes, when they are labelled for what they are. Give them the genuine numbers they replace, or they are found only by someone who already knows your own number.
