What this Toyota electrical range covers
This page is not about batteries and cables. It covers the sensors and smaller electrical parts that keep a Toyota running and its dashboard clear: sensors for the engine, brakes and suspension, ignition coils and their tips, ABS wheel speed sensors and toothed rings, alternators, starters and their parts, relays, oxygen sensors, and some fuel pump and injector parts. The stock table near the top of the page lists each type with the brands on the shelf.
Small pieces such as alternator pulleys, starter parts, relay covers, coil tips, ABS rings and repair kits are counted in rows of their own in the stock table, apart from complete units, so the coil, alternator and starter rows are about whole units. The quote we send always names the exact item, so you know whether you are buying the whole unit or the piece that failed.
| Part | What it does | When it fails | What to send us |
|---|---|---|---|
| Oxygen or air-fuel sensor | Reads the exhaust so the engine can set its mixture | Check engine light, higher fuel use | The fault code and the sensor position |
| Ignition coil and coil tip | Fires one spark plug | Misfire, shaking at idle, flashing engine light | Which cylinder the code names |
| ABS wheel speed sensor and ring | Report how fast each wheel turns | ABS and stability warnings together | Which wheel: front or rear, left or right |
| Alternator and pulley | Charge the battery while the engine runs | Battery light, dim lights at idle, rattle at the belt | The engine, and a photo of the alternator label |
| Starter motor | Turns the engine over to start it | A single click, slow cranking, or nothing | The engine; full hybrids do not have one |
| Height or level sensor | Reads how far the body sits down for headlight levelling | Beams aim too high or low, link arm snapped | Front or rear, and a photo of the bracket |
| Relay | Switches a heavy load from a small signal | A fan, horn or pump that works only sometimes | The number printed on the relay |
Warning lights on a Toyota and the part behind them
Most Toyota electrical faults arrive as a light on the dash, and nearly every light leaves a stored fault code behind it. Any garage can read the code in a few minutes. Send us the code itself rather than only the light, because one check engine light can stand for hundreds of different faults while the code narrows it to a single circuit.
Toyota calls its stability control VSC, and it sits on top of the ABS, reading the same wheel speed sensors. So when one sensor fails, or the toothed ring it reads is cracked or packed with dirt, the ABS and VSC warnings often come on together. That pairing sends us to the wheel speed sensor before anything more expensive.
A misfire code that names one cylinder points at that cylinder's coil, spark plug or injector. The simple test is to swap the suspect coil with its neighbour: if the misfire follows the coil to the other cylinder, the coil is the part. On engines with a coil sitting on each plug, the rubber tip at the bottom of the coil can harden and crack in under-bonnet heat and let the spark leak away. For a number of Toyota engines, including ones in the Corolla, Yaris and Camry, that tip is sold separately, so the coil itself may not need replacing.
Heat and dust on Toyota sensors and connectors
Under-bonnet temperatures in a UAE summer are hard on anything made of plastic or rubber. Connector housings turn brittle, the seals inside them shrink, and fine dust works its way onto the pins. Plenty of intermittent faults that look like a dead sensor turn out to be a loose or dirty plug, so a garage should unplug, inspect and clean the connector before condemning the part.
Wheel speed sensors sit directly in the path of sand, mud and brake dust. On a Land Cruiser, Prado, Hilux or Fortuner used off-road, a sensor tip caked in debris or a ring with a damaged tooth is enough to bring the ABS light on. Cleaning sometimes cures it. A damaged sensor or ring needs replacing, and on some Toyota pickups and vans the toothed ring is sold as a part of its own rather than with the hub.
The charging side works hard here as well. With the AC on full and the radiator fans running in stationary traffic, the alternator carries a heavy load at low engine speed. A slipping belt, a worn pulley or a tired alternator usually shows itself there first, as a battery light or lights that dim at idle.
Hybrid Toyotas, and petrol engines shared across models
A full Toyota hybrid, such as the Camry Hybrid or the Prius, has no conventional starter motor or alternator. One of the hybrid system's motor-generators starts the engine and charges the high-voltage battery, and the ordinary 12 volt battery is kept topped up through a DC to DC converter. If one of these hybrids will not start, a starter motor is not the answer; begin with the 12 volt battery and a diagnosis from a garage that works on hybrids.
On the petrol side, some engines are shared across several Toyotas, which helps with parts. The 2.7 litre 2TR-FE, for instance, has been used in the Hilux, Fortuner, Hiace, Innova and Land Cruiser Prado, and the aftermarket starters on our shelf for it are catalogued for the Hilux, Fortuner, Hiace and Prado alike. A shared engine does not mean every part is shared, though. Mounting points, connectors and output can change between years, so we still match each part to the chassis number.
Genuine Toyota or aftermarket for sensors, coils and charging parts
Both are on the shelf, and the comparison table below shows typical prices where we hold enough of both kinds. For the sensors the engine computer relies on, such as oxygen and air-fuel sensors and cam and crank sensors, many owners prefer genuine Toyota, because a sensor that reads slightly differently can cause running or fuel-use complaints that are hard to trace. For ABS sensors, coil tips, alternator pulleys and height sensors, an aftermarket part from FEBEST or STELLOX is a reasonable choice. Most of our ABS sensor lines are aftermarket; a genuine sensor can be priced on request.
For alternators and starters, most of the complete units on the shelf are aftermarket, from SUPER TURBO and STELLOX, while the genuine Toyota lines are mostly pulleys, bearings and starter parts. A genuine complete unit can be priced on request. Ask for a quote on the complete unit and on the individual part, and decide once a garage has confirmed which one failed.
Oxygen sensors are specific to their position. Most modern petrol engines have one sensor ahead of the catalytic converter and one after it, and on many the front one is a different type from the rear one. A V6 or V8 usually carries a pair for each bank. They look alike and do not swap, so tell us upstream or downstream, and which bank if the fault code says.
| Part | Genuine Toyota, typical | Aftermarket, typical |
|---|---|---|
| Ignition coils | AED 266 | AED 84 |
| Oxygen sensors | AED 464 | AED 176 |
Medians across the lines we hold of each kind. A typical price is not the price of one part: two lines of the same name can be for different models.
What to send for the right Toyota electrical part
Start with the chassis number from the mulkiya. Toyota changes sensors, coils and connectors between generations and sometimes within one, and a US or Japanese import can carry different electrical parts from the GCC car of the same year. Then add the fault code if there is one, the position (which wheel, which cylinder, which bank, upstream or downstream), and a clear photo of the old part showing any number printed on it.
We sell the part and deliver it; your garage fits it and clears the codes. After a sensor or coil is changed, ask for the stored codes to be cleared and the car road tested, because some warnings stay on until the system has re-checked itself over a drive.

Toyota electrical parts: questions
- Which Toyota electrical parts are on your shelf?
- Engine and chassis sensors, ignition coils and coil tips, ABS sensors and rings, alternators, starters and their parts, relays, oxygen sensors and some fuel pump and injector parts. The stock table at the top of the page lists each type with its brands, as of the date shown there.
- My Toyota shows the ABS and VSC lights together. What should I order?
- Have the fault code read first. That pairing most often comes from one wheel speed sensor or the ring it reads, and the code names the wheel. Send us the code and the chassis number and we price the sensor or ring for that corner.
- How do I know whether it is the ignition coil or the spark plug?
- Swap the coil on the misfiring cylinder with the one next to it and clear the code. If the misfire moves with the coil, the coil is faulty. If it stays on the same cylinder, look at the plug, then the injector. A garage can do this in a few minutes.
- Can I replace only the rubber tip of a Toyota ignition coil?
- For a number of Toyota engines, yes. The tip is the part that hardens and cracks in heat, and it is sold separately for several Corolla, Yaris and Camry engines. If the coil body itself is cracked or the coil fails the swap test, replace the whole coil.
- Does my Camry Hybrid need a starter motor or an alternator?
- No. Toyota's hybrid system uses a motor-generator to start the engine and charge the high-voltage battery, and a converter keeps the 12 volt battery charged. A hybrid that will not start needs its 12 volt battery checked and a hybrid diagnosis, not a starter.
- Is it the battery or the alternator when my Toyota keeps going flat?
- A garage tests the battery's health and then measures the voltage with the engine running; it should rise clearly above the engine-off reading. If it does not, the alternator, its pulley or the belt is suspect. If it does, look at the battery or a drain while parked.
- Why do my Toyota headlights point too high after suspension work?
- Cars with automatic headlight levelling use a height sensor linked to the suspension. If its link arm was disconnected, bent or snapped during the work, the system misjudges the ride height. We hold height and level sensors with links for several Toyota models.
- Can you read the fault code on my Toyota for me?
- We do not run a workshop, so the code needs reading at a garage or with a code reader. Once you have it, send it on WhatsApp with the chassis number and we tell you which part it points to and what is on the shelf.
- Are aftermarket ABS sensors a sensible choice for a Toyota?
- For most owners, yes, provided it is the right sensor for the wheel position and the connector matches. Most of our Toyota ABS sensor lines are aftermarket, and we check the exact one against your chassis number before quoting.
- How long do Toyota electrical parts take to reach me?
- This range is held in UAE stock. The stock line printed under the quick answer gives the delivery window as of its date, and when you tell us your emirate on WhatsApp we confirm the exact day with the quote.
- Are these new Toyota parts or reconditioned ones?
- New, every one: genuine Toyota parts and named aftermarket brands only. We do not deal in second-hand or rebuilt sensors, coils or starters, since nobody can tell how long a used electrical part has left.
