What the Honda electrical shelf holds, and what it does not
This page sells a short list of parts, and it is better to say so plainly. The range is built around a handful of electrical parts that wear out with age, heat and mileage on Civics, Accords and CR-Vs: the sensors at each wheel that feed the ABS, the coils that fire the spark plugs, the alternator that charges the battery, the oxygen sensors in the exhaust and the starter motor.
Batteries, bulbs, switches, wiring and control units are not part of this shelf. If you need one of them, or a sensor that is not in the tables, send the part number or the chassis number and we check it for you rather than offer something close.
| Part | What it does | What to send us |
|---|---|---|
| ABS wheel speed sensor | Reports each wheel's speed to the ABS and the stability control | Which wheel: front or rear, left or right |
| Ignition coil | Turns battery voltage into the spark for a cylinder | The fault code, or which cylinder misfires |
| Alternator | Charges the battery and powers the car once the engine runs | A voltage reading with the engine running, if your garage has one |
| Oxygen sensor | Measures oxygen in the exhaust so the engine can trim its fuel | Before or after the catalytic converter, plus the fault code |
| Starter motor | Turns the engine over to start it | Whether it clicks, cranks slowly or does nothing at all |
| Relays and other sensors | Switch fans and circuits, report temperatures and positions | The number printed on the old part, if it is readable |
Reading the warning lights on a Honda dashboard
Most Honda electrical faults show up first as a light on the instrument panel, and the light narrows the search before anyone opens the bonnet. Honda calls its stability control Vehicle Stability Assist, or VSA, and it works from the same wheel speed sensors as the ABS. A failed wheel speed sensor can therefore switch off both systems and light both warnings. The brakes still stop the car without ABS, but the anti-lock and stability help are gone until the sensor is replaced.
A check-engine light with a rough idle usually means a misfire, and on an engine with one coil per spark plug the fault code names the cylinder. A garage can swap the suspect coil with its neighbour and see whether the misfire follows it, which proves the coil before you buy one. A check-engine light on an engine that runs smoothly while fuel use creeps up often points to an oxygen sensor.
A red battery light while driving means the charging system is not keeping up. That can be the alternator, its drive belt or a corroded cable, so have the voltage measured before you order a part.
| What you see | Usually points to | Check first |
|---|---|---|
| ABS light on, often with the VSA light | A wheel speed sensor or its wiring | The fault code for which wheel, then the connector and cable |
| Check-engine light, engine shakes at idle | An ignition coil or spark plug on one cylinder | Swap the coil with a neighbour and see if the misfire moves |
| Check-engine light, fuel use creeping up | An oxygen sensor | Exhaust leaks ahead of the sensor |
| Battery light on while driving | The alternator not charging | The drive belt and the battery cable ends |
| One click, the engine does not turn | The starter motor or its solenoid | Battery charge and the main cable connections |
| Temperature rising, fans silent | A fan relay or fan motor | The fuses, then the relay |
Engine bay heat, dust and the Honda charging system
An alternator is cooled by the air around the engine, and in a UAE summer that air is already very hot before the car moves. In stop-start traffic the alternator also carries its heaviest load at its slowest speed: the AC blower on high, the radiator and condenser fans running and the headlights on at night, all with the engine at idle. That combination is why weak charging often shows itself first in summer traffic.
Ignition coils sit on top of the engine, close to the heat. Their insulation ages with every heat cycle, and a coil that is starting to fail often misfires only when hot or under load, such as climbing a car park ramp with the AC on. If a misfire comes and goes, tell the garage exactly when it happens.
The ABS sensors live at the wheels, next to the brakes. Brake dust, sand and rust can build up on the sensor tip or on the toothed ring it reads, and the cable flexes every time the suspension moves. Desert driving and high-pressure washing around the wheel arches are both hard on the connectors. Sometimes cleaning the tip and the ring clears the fault; a sensor with a cracked body or a damaged cable needs replacing.
Genuine Honda or aftermarket electrical parts
Ignition coils are the main part type where we hold both genuine Honda and aftermarket lines, so ask for both prices on the same chat. An aftermarket coil is a reasonable choice for an older Honda, while some owners of newer cars prefer to stay with genuine. If one coil has failed on a high-mileage engine, the others have done the same work in the same heat, so many owners replace the set, though one coil is enough to cure the fault.
Where the stock tables show only aftermarket lines, as they did for ABS sensors, oxygen sensors, alternators and starters at the time of the stock check, we can still price the genuine Honda part on request.
With an alternator or a starter, match the original. Alternators are rated by their output in amps and starters by their power, and either one must fit the same mounting points and the same pulley or gear. The part makers list them by model and engine, which is another reason we ask for the chassis number.
Matching the right sensor to your Honda
Wheel speed sensors are often made for one position. A front left and a front right sensor can carry different part numbers even when they look alike, and the rear sensors differ again, so tell us which wheel the fault code names.
Oxygen sensors come in two positions. The one before the catalytic converter controls the fuel mixture; the one after it checks that the converter is doing its job. On many newer engines the front sensor is a wide-range air-fuel sensor rather than a plain oxygen sensor, and the two are not interchangeable even when the plugs look similar. The fault code and the chassis number decide which one you need.
Send the chassis number from the mulkiya with every request. GCC-spec Hondas and imports from the US and elsewhere share UAE roads, and one model name can cover different engines, each with its own coils, sensors and alternator. We check the part against the chassis number before we quote, deliver it across the UAE, and you pay through a card link. Fitting, and clearing the fault codes afterwards, is done by your garage.

Honda electrical parts: questions
- Do you stock ABS sensors for the Honda Accord and Civic?
- We hold aftermarket wheel speed sensors for a range of Honda models, each made for a specific wheel position. Send the chassis number and tell us which wheel the fault code names, and we confirm the right sensor before we quote.
- Why are the ABS and VSA warnings both on in my Honda?
- VSA, Honda's stability control, relies on the same wheel speed sensors as the ABS. When one sensor fails or its cable is damaged, both systems can switch off and both lights come on. The brakes still work, but have the fault read and fixed soon.
- One cylinder misfires on my Honda. Do I replace one coil or all of them?
- One coil cures the fault if that coil is the cause, and a garage can prove it by swapping coils between cylinders. On a high-mileage engine many owners replace the full set, because the other coils have aged in the same heat. Have the spark plugs checked at the same time.
- Is it the alternator or the battery when my Honda keeps going flat?
- Have the voltage measured. A garage or battery shop checks the battery at rest, then again with the engine running: if the running reading barely rises above the resting one, the alternator is not charging. A battery that cannot hold its charge overnight is the other common answer.
- Are aftermarket alternators worth buying for a Honda?
- They can be, as long as the output rating, the mountings and the pulley match the original. Ask us on WhatsApp and we quote the aftermarket unit for your exact chassis number, and price the genuine Honda alternator alongside it so you can compare.
- Which oxygen sensor does my Honda need, the front or the rear one?
- The fault code tells you. It names the sensor by position, usually sensor 1 before the catalytic converter and sensor 2 after it. The two are different parts with different jobs, so send the code and the chassis number and we match the right one.
- My Honda clicks once but the engine does not turn. Is it the starter?
- Possibly. A single click often means the starter solenoid tried to engage but the motor did not turn, and that can be the starter itself, a weak battery or a poor cable connection. Rule out the battery and the cable ends first, then order the starter.
- Do you sell Honda batteries, headlights or control units?
- Not from this shelf. This page covers sensors, coils, alternators, starters and a few relays. Send the part number or the chassis number for anything else and we check whether we can supply it, rather than offer something that only nearly fits.
- Are the left and right ABS sensors on a Honda the same part?
- Often not. Many Honda front sensors are made as a left-hand and a right-hand part with separate part numbers, and the rear ones differ again. Tell us the wheel position, or send a photo of the label on the old sensor if it is still readable.
- Will my garage need to reset anything after fitting the part?
- Usually the stored fault codes are cleared with a diagnostic tool once the new part is fitted, and some warning lights go out only after a short drive. Your garage does that as part of the job; we supply and deliver the part.
- How do I order a Honda electrical part, and how soon will it arrive?
- Send the chassis number and the part or fault code on WhatsApp. We check the part, quote, and send a card payment link. The stock line near the top of this page shows how soon parts held in the UAE are ready, as of its date.
- Are these Honda electrical parts new or rebuilt?
- Every part we quote is new, either genuine Honda or aftermarket. A second-hand sensor or coil has already spent years in engine heat, and there is no way to tell how much life it has left.
