Manufacturer warranty vs shop promise
The manufacturer warranty is a contract with the film maker: registered install, batch-traceable roll, defined coverage. If the film yellows in year four, the manufacturer supplies replacement film — whichever shop installs it.
The shop promise is 'don't worry habibi, ten years' — with nothing registered. When the film hazes, the shop blames your washing, offers a discount on redoing it, or has changed trade name. In Dubai's shop churn, that's not cynicism, it's Tuesday.

What a PPF warranty does NOT cover
Stone chips, scratches and punctures to the film aren't defects — the film absorbing damage is the product working. Warranties cover the film failing as a material: yellowing, hazing, cracking, adhesive staining, delamination and edge-lift from manufacturing defects.
Most warranties also require reasonable care: no pressure-washer lances at point-blank edge range, no harsh solvents. Ask for the care terms in writing at handover.
The three questions that expose a fake warranty
One: 'Register the manufacturer warranty in my name before I pay the balance — yes or no?' Two: 'Show me the roll's batch code you'll record on the registration.' Three: 'Email me the warranty certificate or portal confirmation.' A certified installer does all three routinely. A shop selling grey film can't do any of them — watch the answer become a story.
